Not for the X100VI

5 stars for the product, it is built well and looks great. -1 star because it sits too far forward on the the X100VI, it doesn't sit flush with the front of the camera because of the screw hole placement on the camera. I wanted this to work so bad. If there was a bit more adjustability witht placement, this would be stellar!

Just what I needed.

Just changed from Nikon DSLRs to Fuji X-T5 to save weight and space. Always used the original clutch on the Nikons. Tried to use Clutch on the X-T5, better than nothing but not secure and not comfortable. Thought to myself they need to make a smaller version. And then you did, perfect timing guys. Very pleased with the fit, comfort and access to the controls. 1 constructive criticism. Although the proprietary flat tool is very securely attached (magnetically) to the base plate, in use my fingers are not magnetic. I can envisage dropping this and loosing it. I would if possible like to purchase a spare, just in case.

Finicky setup

I got the Micro Clutch I Plate from Kickstarter. It was kind of a gamble because my camera model (Canon M5) wasn't listed and that the measurement was exactly between I and L. The shipping was lightening fast (received it the next day after I received the shipping notification) and the quality of the micro clutch was excellent. The integrated tool was a very smart design and it took no time to take off the plate to access battery door after the initial setup. However, the initial setup was a pain (hard to adjust the stud and the strap since there was very little give in the material). The instruction implied it needs to be a snug/tight fit so after my initial setup, I was unhappy since it was very uncomfortable. The strap was cutting into the web of my fingers and my grip felt unnatural. I actually was going to give up after messing with it for a while. But I decided to loosen in a few spots to see if it helps and eventually I found the sweet spot. It would appears loose when compared to photos and videos, but it's the most comfortable/natural and my camera felt very secure in my hand.

OM-1 and 5 are both no goes

I am a Peak Design fan. Have many of their products and love them, but not this! Got both the l-plate and the i-plate for my two OMs. The original clutch works much better on the OM-1. And the i-plate was very uncomfortable on the 5. They should have tested this on more cameras. Not ready for prime time. Wish I could return them, but I bought them as a part of the kickstarter promo.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry to hear the micro clutch doesn't work with your camera body as expected! We tried hard to accommodate as many makes and models as possible but unfortunately, there are a few out there that just don't quite work. We'll update our compatibility chart accordingly and please reach out to our support team at info@peakdesign.com and we can assist with processing a return for you.

A great tool for a certain type of photographer

TLDR: If you are always on the move, maybe a bit chaotic and spontaneous in how you shoot, and have small-ish hands -- this is for you.
The micro-clutch is a great product. As with any Peak Design product, it is exceptionally well thought out and very sturdy and well made. However, I don't think it is as universally useful or easy to use as other Peak Design products I have.
Pros:
1. Great for a grab and go shoot. If you go light and spontaneous, this is a great tool to improve your grip on your camera -- especially in cold temps when your fingers can go a little stiff.
2. Very well made, the product feels sturdy, and I trust it to hold my camera. I shoot with a Nikon Z6 and use bigger lenses and I feel like the strap can definitely hold the weight.
3. Super easy to attach to my Peak Design Tripod and Capture Clip. Honestly, even easier than before because of the added distance between the base of my camera and the plate. And because now the anchor loop is not on the Arca plate itself, but on the Microclutch L plate.
4. Strap is super comfy and soft
5. Doesn't change the size of my camera so it still fits perfectly in my camera bags and pouches without any new adjustments
Nit-picks
1. Set up is a bit confusing at first when using the tripod plate, but once you get it, it's smooth sailing
2. It's not a seamless fit on the bottom of my camera. The screw hole is a little further forward on my camera, so the L plate is not flush on the bottom, but it's not a huge deal. It doesn't impact functionality at all.
3. The included hidden tool is a bit fiddly. I have small hands/fingers and even then I find it to be a bit of a struggle to get the tool out without using both hands. The tool itself also doesn't have the weight or the texture of an allen wrench, so I've definitely dropped it quite a bit. So if your SD card slot is hidden by the plate, this may not be for you. For me, my battery life usually lasts the whole shoot so I'm not trying to move the plate in the field. But I would definitely be concerned about dropping or losing the tool if I did.
4. The strap is a bit fiddly to adjust as well, but also not a huge deal because that's a one and done adjustment and I would rather it be very secure.
But overall, I'm enjoying the Micro Clutch! I think it suits me specific needs perfectly and I would recommend it if you have similar needs/style.

Highly recommended for the Leica Q3

Just got the “I-Plate” version for my new Leica Q3. Despite being listed by the PD team as not being compatible with the Q3, it works fine. Only hitch being that to access the SD card you first have to completely remove the screw. Not an issue. It works beautifully!
It makes handling the camera so much easier compared to the cuff that I was using, and the fact that the tool is integrated along with full compatibility to the rest of the PD eco-system, makes for a perfect companion.

Works great with my FujiFilm X-S20

Saw a review that said it doesnt work on the X-S20 very well but it's so cheap I was willing to roll the dice. Works totally fine I dont know if that other dude is just a baby or has weird hands but I love mine, makes me carry my camera more. Going to pick one up for my old X-E2S next (I got the L shaped for the X-S20)

Breaks does the PD ecosystem. Inconvenient for battery swapping.
