Perfect on my Nikon Z5 II

Excellent product for me. I'm an experienced photographer and I used to wear the classic Nikon neck strap. I've recently changed all my DSLR stuff for a more modern (and LIGHTER) mirrorless system (Nikon Z5 II). This time, I didn't like the original neck strap, so I started looking around. Peak Design offer a very interesting, well thought and designed stuff. In particular, I chose to give a try to the Clutch, and I'll never look back. I'm in love with it and, after a short adaptation period, I use this wrist strap only. It flips in and out of my bag wtih the camera attached in a matter of seconds and without the hussle given by long neck strap. It's well designed and rounds perfectly over my hand helping to get a secure and comfortable grip. I use it with my pancake lens, a 24-200 and even with the 100-500. This clutch has totally and definitely replacing any neck stuff. Highly recommended from my side.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Awesome

I use this with my often with my Slide. The quick release on the system makes changing the setup a breeze. My hand is pretty big and this fits very snug but the Ellie PD bracket moved the attachment over enough to make extra room for my big hand.

Well-built but not comfortable
on November 28, 2025

I rather like most of Peak Designs stuff, I've got quite a lot of it at this point. Now I wouldn't say that my hands are much larger than the average, and I've tried a few different configurations with my Sony A7R V but I just can't get the clutch to be completely comfortable. It either feels snug and secure, which results in a slight pinch near the upper eyelet, or it's too loose to be useful, or my hand is secured in a way that I have to strain and contort my finger a little to hit the shutter or the dials.
Overall the build feels fantastic and durable, and if you're someone with small hands, you'll probably have a great time. For me, I find myself using my other restraints far more.

Not enough finger strap adjustment - I am going it will stretch.
Also received an everyday 5 litre sling I had requested (as a gift), and O love it - 4 stars

It's the Tool
on February 25, 2026

I purchased this a month ago for my Nikon Z5ii. It's my second micro clutch purchase. I'm unsure if I'll keep it. My first issue is the the tool, complete pain when you're in a hurry to swap cards or battery and don't have a flat surface to sit camera on. I've ended up taking it off mid shoot. Second reason I take it off is the tool placement. If I have the FTZ on, can't access the tool unless I disassemble. I really like the idea of the micro clutch, but I hate the tool needed to move the clutch.

Narrow use case.

High quality build, but execution is mid. For average sized hands, this is uncomfortable on an X-T5 with a pancake lens. Even on smaller bodies, the inconvenience from blocking the battery/SD door with the plate seems less than thoughtful. I’ll definitely buy from PD again, but this seems like a miss.

Easy to install and now I can securely hold my Sony A7CII without mistakenly dropping my expensive camera. Worked with my smallrig L grip!!

Not a great fit with the Ricoh GR IV
on April 6, 2026

This review is really for the combination of the Clutch and my Ricoh GR IV. The Clutch is just too big for that camera. Adding the bottom metal piece that attaches to the camera adds noticeable height and weight. The top attachment doesn’t fit the camera, so you have to use a separate tether (in fairness, PD does note this on their compatibility page, so it wasn’t a surprise). The material quality on the Clutch is good, and it seems like it would work well on a slightly bigger camera. It just doesn’t work well with the GR IV.
