Nice Look, Cheap Structure and Accessories

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first time purchasing a Bosch appliance, and we bought the refrigerator based on two reasons: family brand recommendation and appearance of the counter depth fridge. We have owned the appliance for six months, and much of my frustration stems from a comparison to our pantry fridge from another company. The other fridge is almost ten years and has been through several moves, even spending some time in garages in Texas and Alaska. It's a Korean tank. This Bosch fridge looks nice!! It's quiet. The ice maker works well. The appearance is modern. I have not owned it long enough to know about the electrical/mechanical components etc. Hopefully, this is where Bosch invested the most. The drawers are frustrating. They simply will not close properly and require effort to make sure that they are aligned. They stick, and if they aren't closed properly (which happens frequently), the fridge door doesn't shut all the way. The alarm to let you know is so soft that I must rely on the app to ping my watch. The shiny chrome-looking accents in the fridge scratch easily. They look nice though. The top freezer drawer is useless because you can only put the flattest of items atop. What they do not tell you is if any items exceed the height of this top drawer, it blocks the vents. (Or, I have made a mistake and overlooked this in the manual.) This, in turn,causes an air circulation/defrosting problem. Ice then collects on the metal slides for the freezer door. Once this happens, the door does not shut nicely. The stainless steel is similar to another Bosch appliance we bought, and it's susceptible to scratches. It doesn't seem to be as tough as our appliances from other brands (think Korean). Would I purchase this again? It would depend on whether the mechanical components hold up. If you have young children or teenagers (a family!) and if this will be your primary fridge, I'd look at other options and really compare the drawers and closing mechanisms. If you are a couple with less traffic through and in the kitchen, this fridge is nice and probably would not be as frustrating.

Nearly inaudible 'peep' for open door alarm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fine fridge with a few flaws. On is that the door open alarm has a teeny tiny peep, emitted only once, audible only if one is standing within a few feet of the (open) door. Although the alarm has an on/off function, it does NOT have a volume control function, unlike other Bosch appliances. I think this is a significant usability issue, which could have been easily remedied at design time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this refrigerator, good size for everything you need to put in it. Has one fatal flaw. The one piece pull out draw handle is painted to look like chrome not actual chrome. When the packing tape is removed it tends to remove paint making replacement of draw necessary. Surprised Bosch would make it that way.

The Fresh Protect system is wonderful for keeping my veggies and fruit fresh for so much longer than my old Bosch! Can select a variety of options on two drawers - I use mostly fruit on one and veggies on the other. Haven't missed not having the ice and water on the door at all! I have so much room in the refrigerator part and love the two sturdy drawers and bin in the freezer. More space than I had with older Bosch 800 side by side.

Bosch french door bottom freezer counter depth ref

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The refrigerator is beautiful with clean lines, but is terrible for finger prints. Also, please make sure that you take into consideration how much room you need for the doors to open. Otherwise it renders the concept of "counter depth" worthless as you will need to keep it pulled out to open it. Then you may as well get a regular depth refrigerator and gain the extra interior space.
