We purchased Two units and have had them operating in our home for about two weeks now. We are very pleased. We have central air conditioning which used to leave a lot of dust around the house. Since the units were installed the dust problem is hardly noticeable.
My wife is undergoing treatments for cancer. Her immune system has been weakened and allergies create problems as well. I studied and studied the various best selling purifiers and, based on user reviews, decided on Alen. We have a two story , open-concept, home so I purchased one (1) Breathesmart and three (3) Fit-50 units to cover the entire house. I also purchased the Silver filters for each unit. The units ran "full steam" for about a day and then settled down to the lowest setting. If cooking is done or there is a lot of activity in various areas the fan level will increase, remove any odors, and then drop down. I can't tell you how fresh the air is... My wife's coughing has lost totally stopped, what little dust we had is now gone! The units are certainly not inexpensive, the same can be said for the replacement filters, but the end results make them well worth every penny spent. The units are not small but they are well designed, not unattractive, and are (in our opinions and those of guests) very, very quiet on all but the highest settings... Even those, though rarely on, are not objectionable. Turn the unit on "Auto" and enjoy the benefits of a great product!
Happy Then/Happy Now - 2 years follow-up review on my 4 BreatheSmart units.

When our BreatheSmart units arrived on 7/25/13 they were a major game changer in the overall health of my family. We have 2 units in my 4 room office which is a closed environment with central A/C & heat, and windows that don't open. The other 2 units in our home which has no A/C which, in So. Cal. means that at least 8 months of the year all the windows and skylights have to be open. All 4 units have been running continuously now for 700+ days. Since their arrival we've noticed no spike in our electric bills from either location by running our units on the Auto setting 24/7. We loved the units when they first arrived and after 2 years of continuous use, I'm happy to report that they're still kickin' and doing the same great job in both locations that they did from the first day they arrived. The 2 units at home have to work a little harder because our home is located downwind of 4 refineries and just 3 blocks from a major L.A. freeway. Since this freeway is the main corridor for transporting goods from the ports of Long Beach & Los Angeles it gets an excessive amount of traffic 24/7/365 with a disproportionately large volume of 18 wheeler/diesel rigs. So even though the air quality in my neighborhood isn't the cleanest, the windows still have to be left open or we'll roast. That said, the 2 units at home have to work a little harder than the 2 units in the closed environment of the office, and I wasn't sure if they'd last and continue to do the amazing job of cleaning the air at home like they did when they were new. However, now that we have had all 4 units going non-stop in both locations I'm happy to report that all 4 units have been 100% trouble free and are cleaning the air as well as they did day they were first plugged in. And most surprising to us, we found we've saved approx. $2,300 on co-pays for prescription Asthma medicines, etc. that we’ve no longer needed since the arrival our BreatheSmart units. So at this point the units have actually paid for themselves. That's a smart buy on breathing clean air in anyone's book. Thanks Alen, for bringing such a wonderful product to the marketplace.
So far so good. It's very quiet. Does a fairly descent job with removing cooking odors (bought the upgraded filter for that), the smells or lack thereof is noticeable. As for air purification, it's on automatic and it does go green, but no real qualitative feel as to whether it's helping with air quality or not... I have the sense that it is, but will need more time to know for sure. Just having the sense that the air is cleaner makes one mind more at ease and thus one's body more at rest.
