The fan seems nicely built

The fan seems nicely built and blows air perfectly. However, I cannot tell the difference in the air quality at all! Everyone still has their allergies as usual. What I don't get is that it cycles from green to red so frequently. I would think that once it is green that it takes it a while to go back to red. I can't justify buying more of these until I experience the benefits. I'm interested in trying out the air purifier for the kitchen.

We like BreathSmart unit quite

We like BreathSmart unit quite a bit. The features and claimed volume capasity are great. We like the auto mode and the unit also has an ionizer that may help compensate for its lack of a true hepa filter. The BreatheSmart is not a cheep unit. We ordered a Honeywell HPA-300 for our lower level that has less than half the capasity, in terms of the manufacture's claims, at less than a third of the price. Alen does not certify their units for a CADR rating, so there is really no baseline of performance and we we unsucessful in soliciting a call back from an Alen senior level tech to discuss how they believe their T-500 product would compare with the HPA-300. We were disappointed enough in the failed follow to return the Alen T-500 and bought the Honeywell HPA-300. That aside, we are very happy with the BreatheSmart and believe it esily earns four stars. If it were easier to know how Alen's filters compare to true hepa filters, and their customer service was more responsive, we might have rate the unit as 5 star

Best One I Could Find!

I searched the internet for days, read reviews, and made comparisons, to find an air cleaner that fit my needs! Although skeptical even when I first got it, I bought it anyway. Originally, I bought it for me, since I'm the one who has difficulty with smelling certain chemicals, perfumes, and powders. My husband who tried it while sleeping one night, said he really liked it and slept better with it, asked me to buy him one also. We are very happy with the quietness, the timer, and the performance of this unit. I will be taking it when I travel, especially when I go to a hotel that has rugs, and or chemical smells. The unit has filters you can buy for specific functions. It's also great in the summer because it blows cold air, which does not counteract the AC.

My Alan Purifier

It is the best thing I have ever bought. Not only can my family breath better, it removes dust. We have 2 large dogs and even they breath better. We used to dust almost daily and now once a week does it. And there has never been much to dust after I purchased my purifier. It has been a real lifesaver. My siter has COPD and that is why I ordered it. I did not realize how much difference it would make in so many ways. I can breath better and the allergies have about disappeared. My grandkids remark how good it feels and smells in my house since I have it. LOVE IT! I would recommend to everyone. I purchased the one that is for 800 square feet and put it in my living area. It works all over. Thanks

My Alan purifier

I purchased an Alan purifierc a few years ago. I have small room a and 3 cats. It is unbelievable there is no smell in room and when I clean the filter I can't believe all the hair that is on it

Breath Smart with the Silver Filters is Ideal for Large Bird Pets

We have an African Grey Parrot and he is a big boy. Along with having this delightful family member comes lots and lots of bird dander. If you have a large bird you know what I mean.
This Air Filtration system has been a life saver.
A little Tip, I vacuum the pre-filter and wash it with hot water an dish soap every 2 weeks. Dry it on Hot for 20 minutes and reuse it. This saves having to replace the filter as often. With a Large Bird like Socrates We replace the filter about every 4 months, but I also have a dog and a cat that Shead a lot. If you only have the Bird then you can probably go 6 months with utilizing my trick.
