Not that impressed

I have had this about 5 weeks now and really wanted to see how this bad boy worked before leaving this review. Just last week I left it off for 4 days to see if I noticed a difference and will say "not really.” I have noticed that the light only turns blue if the air is turned up and you leave for the day (more than 4 hours I have done many tests). As soon as I get home and turn air down it takes a couple of minutes but it comes back on. I have tested this countless times and will say the thing will stay on the entire time I am home. Speed setting are constantly changing and just cant figure out what its thinking. I have moved it 3 times to see if that was problem and its been same issues after a couple of days. I really haven’t seen that big of a difference on the dust. I get that I still have to dust but filter doesn’t seem to be picking up anything. If the placement instructions would have been online before purchasing it I highly doubt I would have bought it considering the size and where I would have liked it to go. Simply put I’m not happy with purchase considering price. The fresh air part appears to be the only thing I like but seems like it is just masking the air. My allergies are still a wreck. I have no pets and I do not smoke. I went through a ton of websites and thought I was going to be home run.

Excellent Product that is Very User Friendly

We now have 4 BreatheSmart units throughout our home (and two smaller units to cover smaller areas), all purchased at different times over the past 5 or so years -- so this should speak to how satisfied we have been with the overall quality and usefulness of this product.
Alen Corporation does honor its lifetime warranty and on occasion when an item does need to be returned (we had a couple over the years that had to be replaced when the motors started making uncharacteristic sounds), they have made the return /replacement process very streamlined and non-intrusive on the customer.
The product could not be any easier to operate and maintain. Filter replacements are extremely quick and easy. Highly recommend.

Great Product

We got a new puppy after not being dog owners for 20 years. Unfortunately, I was horribly allergic to him to the point I thought I was going to have to find a new home for him. As a last effort, I decided to try an air purifier. After researching the various products on the market, I decided to purchase an Alen Breathesmart. After 3 days, I knew it was helping and after a couple weeks, I am not suffering any allergy symptoms. Wonderful product! I highly recommend. I also like the follow up emails.

Long Term Review - Seems to help some

We bought the BreathSmart on 1/11/2016. It's now 2/24/2017. We use this filter in a space of approx. 1440 sqft. We also use 3M Filtrete 1500 in the central air system, but we don't run the system every day. Here's our thoughts:
Pros:
- Seems to help reduce the allergy symptoms, but doesn't do away with it.
- The lower fan speeds (1 & 2) is pretty quiet for sleeping
- Top layer of the filter can be hand washed

- The filter life light never seems to change
- The higher fan speeds (3 & 4) are annoying loud for any time. We set it on high when we're not home.
- In the colder days the fan makes the room feel drafty

Skeptical, NOT disappointed

I read the reviews and I was skeptical. I bought it and decided to give it a try. Absolutely satisfied and very impressed with the results. I have a pet that is inside and outside. I also run a wood stove. I was having to sweep everyday, dust everyday. It was a disaster and I was looking for a solution. I now sweep and dust weekly, and I am not having the issues I was having before my purchase. I do keep check on my filter and make sure it stays clean. Results were noticed in less than1 week. I highly recommend this product with the filter for pet odors, smoke and pet dander. I was amazed at the difference! I think you will be too.

Immediately noticeable difference

I purchased an Alen air purifier for my son. His family was living with a mold problem in the basement that caused the whole house to smell musty. I purchased the filter that is designed to deal with this problem. My daughter in law noticed an immediate improvement in air quality hours after starting her purifier and I could smell the difference when I walked in the door! She also loves the compactness, style and pale green color that fits in perfectly with her open space upstairs area. Thanks for making their home so safe and healthy!

From Skeptic to Believer

My Daughter and I have suffered terrible congestion issues and really poor nights of sleeping due to one extra large dog and a cat. Our allergies made us feel like we had sore throats almost all the time. Last week I was desperate for some relief watching my daughter suffer and knowing it would kill her to give up the pets we love so I took a chance on buying two highly recommended air purifiers the Allen and a rabbit. The Allen arrive three days later and was in an easy open box. Once removed the filter easily and perfectly fit into the holder then place the outer panel which uses magnetic hinges aligned with easy. I was literally plugging this unit into the wall in under twn minutes after it came in the door. The controls are so easy to use. It has a color light system on it to indicate the quality of your air. We set this in our wise open concept room of 1700sq feet and sadly the light came on red. I was thinking it can't be that bad maybe it just needs to be reset the first time so I turned it off and back on, still red. I put the fan on high and went about my business and several hours later sitting watching TV the red light turned yellow! Its working I thought, them it went back to red for a short period them back to yellow where it stayed for the next two days. A week in we now have periods where the color turns blue. I installed the rabbit in my daughters room because its a smaller footprint and can hang on the wall. They are both clearly working but telling you I just purchased three more Alen units last night for each of the bedrooms and not more rabbits is because of the complicated filter assembly and very complicated controls vs. The plug and go controller on the Alen unit. A week later we were breathing easier then we can ever remember, our sore throats have gone away and no way to describe you can feel the difference in every breath you take. I'll likely buy one more breathsmart full size so the other unit isn't struggling to keep up with the very large room and we can keep blue as the steady air quality my entire family can benefit by.

We are a group childcare and bought this for nap time when the children get their afternoon nap. It does a great job on the filtering, had hoped it would be a little louder, but in this day and age people want quiet and on the highest setting it does a great job. We do use a noise machine to help out the white noise it produces. Do recommend this product.
