The humidifier itself seems to work ok. But the humidity sensor starts giving bogus values every 3rd night or so. The result is that it shuts off prematurely in smart mode, so we have to use it in manual mode. Kind of defeats the purpose.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Let's see how we can help! The hygrometer provides more of an estimated humidity reading, which will fluctuate. The unit has an internal sensor; for a more accurate reading, please allow the base to completely air dry and ensure the nozzle is pointed away from the sensor (located on the left side of the unit). Unbelievably quiet but ...

This humidifier is amazingly and unbelievably quiet! Alas, after 9 months of use the unit now keeps telling me that it's out of water, in spite of the fact that there is water in the tank, and water in the base unit. This seems to be a common issue according to various online reviews. One web page I found listed 4 steps from LeVoit to remedy this issue but it's not described well enough for me to understand exactly what I'm supposed to be doing.

I am delighted with the Classic 300S Ultrasonic Smart Humidifier. The humidity dropped to 25% in my apartment before I had opened the package. My dermatologist said that keeping the humidity above 60% would help my "abnormally dry skin". He was so right. My humidifier has run continuously when I am at home except for once a day cleaning and refilling. My Classic 300S Ultrasonic Smart Humidifier is making a huge difference in my life. With its cool fine mist, I can live comfortably.

Impossible to clean properly

It's not bad

Does what it says on the tin. Had mine for over a year and it's still going strong. Like all humidifiers I've tried, there are enough nooks and crannies inside that cleaning out the pink stuff is a chore. I pray one day to discover one that is easy to clean. The smart features and app work just fine, but mostly go unused. It is nice to be able to turn of the front screen without getting out of bed though. But mostly I just want to set it and forget it so I always leave it on auto mode at my desired %. Having auto mode paired with a built in humidity sensor is definitely great. If I could just adjust the % from the front of the device instead of an app, this would be 4 stars, and if it was easy to clean, it'd be 5!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Functional and the app is cool but difficult to clean, runs out quick, the humidity meter is different than my other humidity meter, and does not bring up the humidity enough.
