Great But Not for Small Hands

While the mower is easy to handle and joy to mow with, the battery installation and removal are terrible. The battery is so heavy and sits so low there is little room for fingers to squeeze the release and pull it out. I put a shoelace under the battery when I insert it and use that to hoist it out while squeezing the release.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This was a replacement for one like it which I had for 5 years; the old one had a bearing failure in the motor. My only complaint is that the rear driving wheels tend to spin if the grass gets the least bit wet or if I am going up a slope; I think it would be improved if the rear wheels had some tread. I had the same problem with the original; otherwise I think it nearly perfect.

I thought it would use the same 80V battery as the chainsaw, edger, blower, weed eater and more but the battery for those items does not fit in this mower. I'm still having difficulty contacting support to deal with this and another issue with a bolt missing from the handle.

I am very happy with my new Greenworks lawn mower. I have a severe case of arthritis in several joints in my body. I had a self-propelled Cub Cadet mower with a steel deck. It was hard for me to use. My Greenworks mower is much lighter & easier to handle. I was thinking of hiring a lawn service, but with this mower I will be able to mow my own yard for several more years. I am really impressed with the sensor technology. When i hit the thick grass by my septic system, the rpm's increase until i get thru it. With my old mower, i had to slow down or go back over it. My lawn looks uniform & clean cut. Plus, i can use the battery in my Greenworks snowblower too(which is very efficient).

I have used this mower twice since receiving it. The first cut was at its highest setting as my yard had gotten completely out of control with weeds almost a foot tall. It was so smooth and powered through all of those weeds without any problem. The simplicity of start and stop compared to typical gas made bagging and emptying the bag so easy. It was the fastest I have ever cut the lawn.
A week or so later I went back to do a proper cut on my zoysia lawn. I set the mower at 4 height and went to work. My lawn is very thick in some places and you could hear the mower power up to get through those areas. Again smooth cut and easy bagging process. With the thickness of the grass, I was actually worried the battery would die before I finish. My yard is very steep and I was using the self-propel feature a lot. It had no problem and the lawn looked great. The easy adjust height made it easy to cut the edge without scalping it like often happened with my previous mower.
Delivery is not the fastest, so be patient - it is worth the wait!

Overall the mower works very well. It's so nice to finally be able to cut the grass in relatively peace and quiet. Im very impressed with the battery charge and I'm easily able to cut my 1/3 acre lot size with plenty of charge remaining. I don't use the sell propelled though as the mower is easy to push. The self regulating variable power is nice and I have yet to even come close to stalling. I use the rear bag and it works very well and is super easy to removed empty. I would have rated 5 star but there is one minor flaw that I need to modify - the battery cover hinge mechanism is poor and doesn't allow the cover to fully open, making removing the battery awkward, I ended up disassembling the top cover parts and added a different huge so now the cover opens completely. It took about an hour and a half to modify. To me this is imperative as the cover is opened up pretty much every time you use the mower. Other than the poor battery hatch, the ergonomics are very good.

First electric mower, will not go back to gas. Handles lawn easily with quiet operation, sounds like a hair dryer. Battery lasted about 45 minutes.
