[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this mower, as well as the weed eater, leaf blower, and drill and driver set I bought all at the same time. Plenty of battery life to get my half acre looking great, and plenty of power as well. Would buy these again in a heartbeat.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall a very good mower

Not inexpensive, but I bought it because it was highly rated. I'm happy with my purchase. It cuts well and mulches leaves well. I love the benefits of electric vs. gasoline: quieter, no exhaust fumes, easy starting, and much easier maintenance. Very simple height adjustment, too. I like the vertical storage. Not sure why it needs a headlight. Also, apparently Greenworks has engineered a safety feature (?) that makes it more difficult to pull the mower back (towards yourself), e.g. at the end of a row. But my one suggestion for improvement would be to make the speed control more stable -- not so easily moved. I must be lightly bumping into it (and my belly isn't that big) and the control moves. should be easy to fix, no?
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Effective

Self propelled, lighted cutting ahead area, quiet.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this item because it does exactly what my gas mower does, plus it's lighter, and self propelled and has lights in front so I can cut grass in the dark and not wake up my neighbors. Comes with 2 batteries, a 80V 2.0 Amp hour, and a 80V 4.0Amp hour battery, with fast charger, rarely does it quit, my yard is approximately less than a 1/4 acre. On jackrabbit speed I get to hop to it, and turtle speed is s l o w.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful

Cannot Handle Any Amount of Wet Grass.
on July 11, 2025
Posted by: Chase206
I’ve never hated a purchase more. If you live where the dew stays on for awhile, or is a more wet, humid climate in general, do not purchase this. The mower cannot handle it. The wet grass gets gunked up and blade shuts off every few feet. And due to it constantly shutting off and needing to be restarted, the battery depletes extremely quickly. Should have returned it forever ago.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Chase206,

We acknowledge your disappointment with the mower's performance. We understand that it did not meet your expectations. As our lawn mowers are electric, it is advised to not use them in damp/wet locations or if it is raining. Wet grass is inherently more challenging for any mower due to its increased weight and resistance to cutting. Wet grass is heavier and more difficult to cut, which can cause the mower to struggle.
Mowing wet grass can negatively impact the quality of the cut, potentially leading to unevenness and clumping of clippings.
What to do instead.
Wait for the grass to dry, if possible, wait until the dew or rain has passed and the grass is dry to the touch before mowing.
Raise the cutting height, if you must mow wet grass, raise the mowers' cutting height to minimize the amount of grass being cut at once.
Clean the mower thoroughly, after mowing wet grass, be sure to clean the mower deck and blades to prevent rust and corrosion.

Misrepresentation of the acreage it does
on September 4, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The article, when you read about it, greenworks, says this mower goes three quarters of an acre, but when you get the box, it states only one third of an acre. Their description of the product doesn't actually match what the box says when you received the product. I could not figure out how to add the image of the box.
Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenworksJanuary 14, 2026
Hello DanOO.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand how confusing and frustrating it can be when the information listed online does not appear to match what is shown on the product packaging. Runtime and coverage estimate, such as acreage, are based on ideal operating conditions and can vary depending on factors like grass height, terrain, speed, and usage of self-propelled features. In some cases, packaging may reflect more conservative estimates to account for these variables.
We appreciate you sharing this feedback, as consistency between product descriptions and packaging is important. We will pass this along to the appropriate team for review. If you have questions about performance expectations or would like assistance determining whether this mower meets your needs, our customer support team is available to help. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, accessible by clicking “Chat Now” in the bottom corner of your screen, Chat with a Live Agent or by calling 1-888-909-6757.

A Solid Performer for a Medium Lawn
on September 7, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid, capable mower that does its job well. The 80V battery provides plenty of power to get through a medium-sized lawn without any issue, and having two batteries is a convenient feature. The self-propelled function works as expected and is helpful on inclines. The 4-in-1 options for handling clippings are a practical touch, offering good flexibility.
It is a fairly heavy piece of equipment, which is worth noting. While it performs reliably, the price point is still a consideration for the value.
A good, efficient choice for someone looking to switch to battery-powered lawn care.

Don't Waste Your Money
on September 27, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second review of this mower. I have been cutting grass for 55+ years, and I have never disliked a mower as much as I am disliking this mower - I wish I had gotten my grass-powered mower repaired, instead of buying this mower. This mower gives a poor, uneven cut - thick, heavy grass, or light grass. When you disengage the self-propulsion, it's impossible to pull the mower backwards, until you push it forward a bit, or "bounce" the mower. This mower is extremely difficult to maneuver in tight quarters, or when you have to cut around something in your yard. The battery does not last nearly as long as claimed. All I can say is, don't waste your money.
Response from greenworkstools.comBy GreenworksSeptember 29, 2025
Hello Mark54. We appreciate you taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience with the mower has been frustrating. The issues you have described with cut quality, maneuverability, and battery runtime are not what we want our customers to experience. Runtime can vary and depend on a few factors, including but not limited to using self-propelled, self-propelled mowers do use more batteries than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels. Grass texture and consistency. Cutting height and lawn size, when grass is not too thick and well maintained under 4 inches. For added runtime, we recommend purchasing an additional battery, Greenworks 80V batteries are interchangeable with 80V units, the higher the ampere-hour (AH) rating is on the battery, the longer the run time will be in comparison to a lower ampere-hour battery. The self-propelled feature is not usable in reverse. They are designed to lock when pulled back to prevent damage to the drive belt. If you are using the self-propelled feature, the mower will attempt to move forward and will be difficult to move backwards. You would have to release the self-propelled lever to pull the mower backwards while still holding onto the start lever. We hope this information helps you understand our product better and perhaps encourages you to give it a second chance! Who needs Gas? NOT ME !!!

I purchased the lawn mower after owning the a previous model. I was going to just get the previous model again. However, I saw this had the dual batter option, and that is what sold me. I live on over 1.5 acres so we have some land. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain when our old mower stopped working. So when we got this we put it right to use. In a few lower areas of grass I got over 90 minutes run time on the 2 batteries. As impressed with the first one we had I was that impressed all over.
