[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve tried many sound machines, and this is by far my favorite. I love that I can select from different sounds and can save the sound and light combination under favorites. The app is very easy and convenient. It lets me control the sound and light from your phone so I can turn off the night light or increase the volume without having to go upstairs or enter the room. When I put my son down for a nap, I start by using the shush sound. After he falls asleep, I use the app to switch to the brown or pink noises. I really like the brown and pink noise, because they’re a little softer than white noise, but still put help him stay asleep, even with my noisy older kids. I love that I can save different routines. I’ve saved one each for nap, bedtime, and nighttime. The design is sleek and modern and is a great addition to any room (not just a baby’s or kids’ room)! This sound machine really helps my son relax and fall asleep. It’s been a great addition to our routine. For toddlers, you can also use this as an OK-to-wake clock by setting the light to red or green with different routines at different times. Kids favorite night light

Upon unboxing Nanit sound and light, it did have a rubbery smell. It was strong, so I would recommend airing it out or opening it in a well ventilated room. The design is simple, I really like how clean it looks. Inside the packaging was a QR barcode for app download and charging cable.
The initial set up took me about 20 minutes. The easy part was downloading the app. Following the directions, I scanned QR barcode at the bottom of sound and light machine. So, this part is supposed to connect Wi-Fi access to sound and light. What happened was a 15 minute ordeal of why after scanning the QR barcode Nanit had created a network and it was Nanit network that my phone connected to. Anyway, I took a break and deleted the app, started the process over again and finally got it to connect to my home network.
The app is working perfectly. I got the update the developer made for crying notification and I love it! My kids really love the sound and light machine too, it’s been a favorite in their room versus baby’s room. Customizing the light to their hearts desire and bedtime routine with lullaby sounds.
I’m still playing around with ‘favorite’ sound and light for managing other routines, but I think this is a winner in our house for now.

Sleek and simple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this sound machine to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was impressed from the initial unboxing.
Everything about this sound machine feels thoughtfully designed, right down to the packaging. It is sleek and minimal, with a small footprint. It’s very easy to set up once you download the app. I created a few favorite settings and the volume, sounds, brightness and light color are all a breeze to adjust so you can get them set just right to your preferences. I’m using this with my newborn and also my three year old and it has really seemed to help both of them as we are building a new sleep routine together.
The sound quality is pretty standard but what really impressed me is the light quality. I am very sensitive to light, especially when colored, and it is very easy to create the perfect settings that are visually soothing to me and my little ones. While I love the sound options too, I think the customizable light color is my favorite feature on the Sound + Light. I also love that the compact design allows it to be easy to take on the go to help maintain a consistent sleep routine anywhere. All in all, this is a great product and one I’ll be recommending as a must have to all of my mom friends.

Overall really great

I really like that this has a clock. I've had several other light/sound machines that don't have clocks, I didn't even realize it was something I'd actually like!
The light can be very bright. It's very adjustable, but I do find it too bright even at one of the lowest percentages. I cover the light with something laying around the house and then it's fine lol. I don't use the sound part because we all sleep with loud fans on already. But there are lots of options for sound.

The set up with wifi was a little difficult and I still can't get the firmware to update! Currently if I want to change the settings at all I have to disconnect from my home wifi and connect to the nanit wifi. Then I have to remember to change back to my home wifi. Every time. I can't figure out any way around this yet. It's definitely the biggest downfall but I'm also not sure if it's just a me problem or not!

So many sound options and you can set routines

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so impressed with this little light and sound machine! It is extremely easy to set up and use out of the box. You can have a certain light color and sound that you select come on automatically at a certain time every day. My son goes to bed at 8 o’clock every night, and I have this automatically set to a nice orange light and the brown noise turns on. I always feed him his bottle at this time and it’s a great wind down until he falls asleep. Since you can turn this off with the app, you can turn the light off even when you’re out of the room. In the morning for wake up, I have it scheduled to turn blue and it plays a beautiful wake up sound! I love that there’s a clock in it, so you can see exactly what time it is when you are in your child’s dark room rocking them. It’s also pretty small of a device so it’s very unobtrusive. My favorite feature is the 11 different sounds you can choose from that include cute songs, pink noise, and tons of options. My baby loves it! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for gifting this to me to test!

Great features for kids of all ages

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been using the Nanit Sound Machine for a few weeks now with both our 7 month old and our 8 year old. It is a great sound machine! My 8 year old loves picking the sound and light color for her to wake up to each morning. She also loves that it has a clock on it too! I could see it being really helpful to indicate to a younger child when it is time to get out of bed in the morning by changing the light color. I found it perfect for my infant as well. It allows you to set a playlist and dim the light from your phone. I think the sounds are great quality and I like that you get a range of sound options without having to pay a premium. Another feature we'll use often is the ability to charge the sound machine and use it cordless. This will be so helpful for travel! Overall the app is easy to use and Nanit has already updated several features in the few weeks I've had their product. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this sound machine.

What a great product

Although I was not in the market for a sound and light machine that had smart features, the ability to customize the sounds and schedule on the sound machine is great!
As my baby gets older, I really look forward to using the colored light feature to indicate they can get up in the morning.
The app was fairly easy to navigate without much tutorial. I was a little thrown off on how to do the initial setup since there were no instructions in the box, only a QR code. Once scanning the QR code, it just downloaded the app.

Makes life with a baby more convenient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To start off, this is our third child. We have tried and gone through just about every white noise machine and night light setup possible... The convience of the app is AMAZING and the design is flawless. Having the ability to control the sound, light and etc through your phone is everything. Not to mention the cry detection alerts also can even replace a baby monitor! Anyone with a child should buy this, instead of buying two to 3 other setups that still won’t perform at the same level. I was lucky enough to receive this from Stellar Product Testing Panel and if I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
