Tiny but mighty

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everyone has different needs, but in my opinion, this little smart lamp is a must-have for the newborn phase and will be helpful moving forward too. I feel lucky to have received it to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel! I usually carefully read instructions (yes, I am on that 1% list), but I didn’t need it this time: this is almost a plug-and-play device. You do have to create a Nanit account, but it is very straightforward, and the app is super user-friendly. I have an Android phone, and with the latest app updates, I created pre-set routines, combining different sounds and lights. Red light stimulates melatonin, so I set up the sleep/nap routine with red light and soothing wave sounds. We turn it on after bath time, and it stays on until we go to bed (the baby is in our room). Since I put the lamp at my bedside table, I have another set up with bright white light and no sound to use as a reading light. And I may create a third routine for waking up, maybe pink light with bird sounds, to feel like Snow White! Jokes aside, I did need this type of gadget during the newborn phase. The all-in-one set of light, sound, and watch was handy during all the newborn nighttime wakeups when I often watched the clock while nursing, counting the minutes to go back to sleep! At that time, I was also logging all the feeding, so I needed the clock and wanted to avoid taking my phone. Another plus: you can regulate the clock display intensity! That’s nice because I do find those bright blue night clocks annoying! Now, my baby is 7 months old, and I appreciate not having to use my phone all the time: I can just set up the routines in advance and turn them off with the button. There are also buttons to adjust the volume and the light intensity, which is helpful! I haven’t used it on battery yet, I just have it plugged in. Lastly, I appreciate that this lamp is small enough to use when traveling, which is always a plus. The cry detection feature can be useful if you want to travel only with the lamp, without a monitor. Overall, I recommend this machine: it makes life easier, helps set routines, and will be an asset in and out of your home.

A Solid Sleep Solution with Room for Improvement

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently had the opportunity to try out the Nanit Sound + Light machine, and I must say it has been a game-changer for establishing healthy sleep routines for my little one. The combination of soothing sounds and gentle lights creates a calming environment that helps my baby drift off to sleep peacefully.
Setting up and using this device was a breeze. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and I had it up and running in no time. The sleek and modern design of the sound and light machine is also a plus. It blends seamlessly with our nursery decor and adds a touch of sophistication.
I do have a few minor concerns, though. Firstly, in order to access all the features, I had to update my iOS on my iPhone, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the app that accompanies the device could use some improvements. While it gets the job done, it lacks the polish and intuitiveness that I was hoping for. Furthermore, I found that the options for controlling the device outside of the app are somewhat limited, which can be a drawback.
In general, this is a solid device with a lot of great features. It has definitely helped us establish healthy sleep routines for our little one, and the sound and light combination is truly soothing. However, it may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those who are not keen on using the accompanying app extensively or require more control options from the device itself.

Small clean design

Unboxing of this device was nice and the overall device has a very sleek and clean modern look. Setting it up could be as simple as charging it and turning it on or as complicated as setting up the app to get it working.
Call me old school but I don't prefer needing to have an app for every single device in my house. I really like that this device has the option of an app for people to want that and there are also buttons for changes directly applied to the device in hand. One perk of using the app is that you can change the light, sound, or turn the device on/off without going into the baby's room.
I love that you can set routines with the device so that it could help establish routines at bedtime or in the morning too.

So many options

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this sound machine. When I first received it in the mail I was very impressed with how sleek the packaging was and then continued to be impressed with the product itself. The clean lines are very appealing to look at. It was very easy to set up, all I had to do was scan the QR code and then follow the prompts. Creating a schedule was a little more difficult. I felt like there should have been a little more written directions about how to create a routine. It became more of a trying out and testing scenario with different options. So do feel like that could have been avoided with a more instructions. For the most part I found it easier to customize on the app rather than the actual device. Other than that I loved all the options it gave. There were plenty of different sounds to choose from and I loved all the colors. Setting the color was my favorite part. I loved having a pretty color come on when I needed to go nurse my baby.

Great addition to your babys sleep routine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited about this opportunity to participate in review the Nanit Sound +Light from Stellar Product Testing Panel. As a mother of a bubbly infant I loved the idea of creating a sleep routine! I was excited to see if this would help my baby sleep longer and more relaxed.
When opening the Nanit Sound+Light, you will be impressed with its sleek design. It’s compacted and doesn’t take much space. I plugged it in and immediately a light is bright. That was definitely a plus to me. Cause during nighttime changing I definitely could use the Nanit instead of turning on the overhead light which sometimes wake my baby.
Now here is the frustrating part. At first, I couldn’t get the Nanit to connect properly. The pairing of the Nanit and my phone wasn’t correctly processing. The Nanit app has a community and help section in the app, which my fellow Nanit user quickly help me figure out my problem. After that hiccup, I was ready to explore, but I couldn’t do anything because the Nani’s needed to be updated. For some reason mines isn’t updating. After a whole day later, it finally updated! I was all set to explore.
The Nani’s Sound+Light is impressive. Thought the product is small the volume can get very loud. On certain sounds you will have to adjust accordingly. There are 8 sounds that you can select. I think it would be awesome to also use your own music if needed. The lights have 10 different colors and a custom color option. You can adjust the brightness to your liking. You set different routine such as bedtime, wake up, and nighttime. All beneficial while putting your little one down and setting a schedule.
Overall, this is a great addition to have. I am impressed and seen improvements with my munchkin sleep pattern. I do think at the cost point more features could be added such as fading lights and adding in music.

Bedtime Must

The Nanit Sound + Light was super simple to set up and is very user friendly. The app is very easy to use and navigate, it was quick and easy to customize what lights and sounds I wanted to use. This machine is sleek and small, I love that it does not take up a lot of room and that it has a rechargeable battery. This machine also has cry detection, which is phenomenal especially when we are on the go for the night and don’t always bring a monitor! Overall, this is a great machine with great features. Definitely has become a bedtime essential!

Great tool for bedtime

When I opened the box I was impressed with the sleek and modern design. As I started to set the machine up by downloading the app I ran into a little trouble getting the machine to sync to my phone but was able to get it working. I love that the light level is adjustable. The sounds are great we loved the pink noise the best, it actually helped calm my autistic 6 year old during a meltdown. My only complaint is I wish there were more controls on the machine itself in case you didn’t want to use a phone

Sleek design tech needs some work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this through the stellar testing panel and was pretty excited when it arrived. Right off the bat I loved the design and small profile. The subtle look fit our sons room well and suited our minimalist style.
The app was easy to install with simple controls. It would not allow me to connect to the device from my ipad, which was annoying, but it worked fine on my phone. I was hoping that through the app I would be able to connect to my iTunes and select music from my library, but that was not the case (maybe future updates?) the sound selections were simple but a nice collection. My son really enjoyed the bird sounds as well as the lullabies.
I was excited to hear that the new update would include cry detection, but it only worked half the time and only if my son was crying for more than a minute or two even within the 3-6’ radius.
The color effects are nice but can be rather harsh if turned up too high (the neon green is a but much) and the option that allows you to customize your own color was pretty glitchy.
The device also gives off a constant high pitched hum, even when color and sound are turned off.
Has a lot of potential, but the tech definitely needs some work. Will keep an eye out for updates in the hopes that some of these things get worked out.
