Disappointed with bump line advance not working

This trimmer is well powered but the bump line advance does not work. Every time I need new line I have to stop and advance it by hand. For those of you with arthritis, be aware that this is a heavy tool!
Pros: Environmentally Safe, Powerful
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Perleymj.
Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you are satisfied with the power of the trimmer, but we understand how frustrating it can be when the bump feed is not advancing as expected. Here are a few things to check: ensure the line is wound correctly and not overfilled, as this can prevent proper advancement; confirm you are using the recommended line diameter for your model; and check that the spool and cap are securely installed and free of debris. Lightly tapping the head on a firm surface while at full speed (not on soft grass) can also help the bump mechanism engage properly. If the issue continues, the spool or bump knob may need inspection or replacement. For additional guidance, you can view this helpful video on proper line loading and operation: (https://youtu.be/2eiGIXXzx2w); (https://youtu.be/SBN2hTJDeuQ). If you need further assistance, Greenworks Customer Success would be happy to help. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757. We also appreciate your note regarding the weight, as comfort and usability are important considerations.
