Easy to set up. Easy to use. Especially appreciate the easy string loading process. 80V tool complements my other 80V GreenWorksTools that I already have.
This trimmer is well powered but the bump line advance does not work. Every time I need new line I have to stop and advance it by hand. For those of you with arthritis, be aware that this is a heavy tool!
Pros: Environmentally Safe, Powerful

Hello Perleymj. Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear you are satisfied with the power of the trimmer, but we understand how frustrating it can be when the bump feed is not advancing as expected. Here are a few things to check: ensure the line is wound correctly and not overfilled, as this can prevent proper advancement; confirm you are using the recommended line diameter for your model; and check that the spool and cap are securely installed and free of debris. Lightly tapping the head on a firm surface while at full speed (not on soft grass) can also help the bump mechanism engage properly. If the issue continues, the spool or bump knob may need inspection or replacement. For additional guidance, you can view this helpful video on proper line loading and operation: (https://youtu.be/2eiGIXXzx2w); (https://youtu.be/SBN2hTJDeuQ). If you need further assistance, Greenworks Customer Success would be happy to help. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757. We also appreciate your note regarding the weight, as comfort and usability are important considerations.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this 80V set and just bought a second set for my grandchildren and we both love this combo set.
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Powerful
Spool system is almost unworkable, and pretty much impossible to reload. Very disappointing product from Greenworks.

Hello Sconie. Thank you for your feedback. We ae sorry to hear the spool system has been so frustrating to use. If the spool feels difficult or “unworkable,” a few adjustments can often make a big difference. First, confirm you are using the correct line diameter (typically .080" for many 80V models), as thicker or incompatible line can prevent proper feeding and make reloading much harder. When loading, make sure the line is fed evenly through both sides and wound tightly in the direction indicated on the head, loose or uneven winding is one of the most common causes of jams or poor performance. It is also important not to overfill the spool, as excess line can bind inside the housing. Before reinstalling, check that the spool cap, spring, and tabs are aligned correctly and that the housing is free of debris, since buildup can interfere with smooth operation. For a step-by-step walkthrough, this Greenworks Tools video may help demonstrate the correct loading process and make it easier to follow along (https://youtu.be/2eiGIXXzx2w). If you are still experiencing issues after trying these steps, pre-wound spools can be a convenient alternative, and our support team can also help confirm whether the spool or head assembly may need replacement. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, or by calling 1-888-909-6757. We appreciate your feedback and would like the opportunity to help get your trimmer performing as expected.
