Cheap plastic cover guard for trimmer.

The mower and blower work great. However the 13 inch string trimmer destroyed itself after the first use. The sting cutting blade and protection cover snapped in half after installing new line slightly longer than needed. This was apparently too much for the cheap plastic cover and it was sent flying across my garage. I cannot understand why they chose to use plastic guard instead of metal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great trimmer, just dont replace the string!!

The trimmer itself was fine. The issue is when I tried to find a replacement spool. I tried winding the string, but it is almost impossible to keep lines tight before getting this inserted into the device. I called support and they referred me to a replacement spool, but it doesnt fit at all. According to the sales rep, the item would fit on my trimmer. But nope.

This was a late season purchase for me, but I've used it twice and am very happy with the versatility of the unit. The only down side is that the thicker stem weeds do take a minute to knock over, but they are so few and far between that it's not a problem.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got the 80V because it works with my lawnmower and hedge trimmer but I’m not sure what the real difference is. It seems a bit long and unwieldy compared the my old plug-in electric edger. The guard also prevents it from trimming effectively so I basically don’t use it. It took a little learning curve to get the desired effect on my lawn, but I had been using the same plug in edger for years. It was easy to assemble and allows you to adjust the handle, though I felt like it is so heavy from the battery the handle adjustments still didn’t feel quite right. I am giving it another chance this weekend hopefully will be easier to use. Definitely heavier than a plug in electric model but nice to no longer have to get out the extension cords! Next all I need is the battery leaf blower!

No parts, breaks down, cheap made!

No parts are ever available. Two heads completely shatter for no reason, even the screws are cheap. Do not buy this. I couldn’t even take it apart because just using a screw driver to back out the screw completely reamed the screw and now this is unusable. Worst construction I’ve ever seen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Safety Trigger Failure

I bought this last spring because I have several other greenworks products that do a great job. Unfortunately this 13 inch trimmer has an issue with the safety trigger mechanism. I have had to depress the safety just right for some time and often times had to cycle the battery in and out to get it work. It has quit intermittently over the last couple of months. This weekend it finally quit working. Very disappointing.

Locked up on second light use, and motor smoked...

I bought this a couple weeks ago. First time I used it, it failed to run a couple times when I squeezed the switch, and had some light smoke coming out of the trimmer head. Just used it today for the second time... After about 30 feet of light border trimming, it stopped working all together, and smoked pretty bad... I thought maybe it overheated, so I let it sit for about 30 minutes... When I tried it again, it acted like the trimmer head was locked up, and smoke came out of the trimmer head, again... Going to contact them Monday, and see what they're plan is...
