Good but keep getting errors and water back up

I've really enjoyed using this machine and it is a major time saver. The only problem is after about a month of using it I keep getting E 4 error and it isn't incredibly clear how to troubleshoot. And water keeps backing up in the sump after a clean so I have to unplug and empty the sump after nearly every wash.
