The battery life alone is fabulous! I'm still getting used to all the settings and adding activities, but it's great!

The Ultimate Training Tool

I'm regularly running back country trails and I couldn't imagine doing it without this watch. It easily uploads maps that I pull from Strava and AllTrails and provides turn-by-turn directions. And the battery life will go for days. I've been training for a mountain race, and like to see my vert and how much more I have to go. If you're a nerd about your fitness you'll love the data and analytics. My only complaint is that the stock issue band isn't super comfortable and it's taken some getting used to at night to get the sleep metrics. I'm working on getting a new band, hopefully his solves the issue.

Long lasting battery, great sensors
on June 2, 2024

Upgraded from a watch made in 2018, the Garmin Fenix 7 Pro shows how much advancement was made in sensors over the last 6 years. The monitors are precise and fast, and the battery life is unbeatable.
The sleep monitor is life changing, you quickly see what patterns trigger (ex: caffeine and alcohol) good and bad sleep.
The overall watch features are great for advanced wilderness users, and overkill for people staying in a city/going to the gym.
The map features work really well in the backcountry; I was surprised to see local trails mapped on it (likely through heatmaps/other users tracking?).
One issue with the watch is playing music from the watch with Spotify over Apple Airpods, for some reasons the songs tends to randomly skip/stop playing/have issues.

Excellent watch. But don't buy because of the solar option.

It looks sharp, is super tough, and has all the feature majority people need. The battery life is great, I figured the solar would help, but even after leaving my watch in the sun several times really didn't help much. The flashlight alone is worth getting the pro or x versions of this watch. Definitely has a lot of features, not a beginners watch for sure. But plenty worth it if you are looking for watch that is going to go the distance and remain high quality in appearance and usefulness.

The best watch
on May 14, 2024

The flashlight tool is used way more than I thought. The health tracking is phenomenal, especially when paired with their blood pressure cuff and their scale. The only thing I dislike was the watch band it comes with but you can find multiple different ones wherever you look. The recommendations are great as well as the workouts you can find Incase you need to switch up your routines. Can't reccomend it more, even for someone who isn't an ultra marathon runner. I'm an EMT and it holds up to everything I would ever need it for as a personal watch, work watch, and a smart watch and fitness tracker.

Great upgrade from Fenix 5X!
on May 13, 2024

I've been using and loving my Fenix 5X for years now, and chose to replace it with the Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar when the 5X finally died. I was skeptical of the claimed improvements, but the 7 Pro does not disappoint!
Notable improvements: - Heart rate monitoring - Altitude and elevation change measurements - Screen resolution - Battery life - Flashlight (way more useful than I thought) - Body battery and sleep quality features
Other thoughts: - Really glad I switched to the regular 7; the 5X was just so big - The watch has a lot more features, so the UI is a little more complicated, but not problematically so - For those questioning if the Sapphire is worth it; it sure was on my 5X. Wearing it rock climbing, the bezel would get small scratches but not the screen. - Pulse Ox does not seem to work for me, and ECG feels like a gimmick

Fantastic in all aspects

I upgrade from a Fenix 7 to the Fenix 7 Pro. Wristbased HRM, battery life, user interface, GPS reception is all hugely improved in the Fenix 7 Pro. I'm using it daily for workouts and as a general smartwatch. Fantastic functionality, I cannot really think of anything missing in this device.
