I simply love everything about this rack. Easy to install on hitch, easy to load bike with the included ramp, lock downs are secure. Never a fear of the bike falling off. Took it to Crested Butte CO for its maiden voyage and it passed with flying colors

What is the deal with the clamps?

So frustrating to get the clamps onto the bike that I am considering buying a van to transport 2 ebikes. Thule - is there a better clamping system I could buy that will work with thus expensive EasyFold XT?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The only complaint about this rack is the price but it is actually worth it to me. It has a superior design and toe hitch with the pin lock is better than the otd pin and nut one or key. My wife can actually load the e bikes with the hidden ramps and wheel it around rather than lugging around the old. The hinge foot pedal works effortlessly and allows access to the rear hatch of our X3.

I just purchased this bicycle carrier for my electric bike. One of the reasons for it's purchase is so i can drive my electric car to one of almost 30 nearby charging stations & ride the bike either back home or around town. The carrier is well made and easy to install.

Issues with clamps fitting properly it's NOT EASY

I have this for my Specialized E-bike and also sometimes use it for a Specialized standard bike. Some things about it are great- others are not!
1) if you have an ebike- it is VERY difficult to lift it high enough ti fit onto the rack. They have a "ramp" that in the videos looks fantastic but it's too narrow to fit easily and the it's way too steep to actually be useful with a heavy bike. You're more likely to get injured IMO using that than just lifting it.
2) The clamps seem wonderful until you actually try to attach them. The bar moves from place to place and you can adjust them in one direction but not in the other. The clamps need to adjust vertically as well as horizontally in order to be able to PROPERLY clamp onto all bikes. It's got to be EXACTLY in the right place to hold a bike properly.
3) they need to make replacement clamps with larger clamps to fit other areas of bikes that also adjust vertically! Otherwise it is VERY difficult to secure and is probably what led to others complaining about bikes falling off.

It does have some really nice features:
1) it rolls

3) it flips down so you can get into the hatch (assuming your bike won't fall off from not being held on well by the the clamps...)
