After a year of lugging my heavy eBike into the back of my SUV with my son-in-laws help, I finally decided to get a bike rack. After researching, I found the Thule to have the best features like easy of hitching to my car, light(ish) weight, ability to handle my heavy electric bike and wheels to move it my garage I purchased it. I could not be happier! I am able to not only attached it to my car hitch but with the help of the ramp I can also load and unload my bike without help. This has given me the freedom to ride whenever I want with out having to get him to help me. The sturdy clip and the wheel straps are easy to use and secure my bike with no worries of it falling off.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice enough, but caution needed

Nice enough double carrier, however, there are two features that are lacking in their designs.
One is that there is not a simple option for attaching stop-turn-tail lights.
The second is that the "locking" knob on the bike frame arm clamp doesn't really lock anything, but simply disengages the knob from the internal threaded component to discourage theft. However, that internal component is still free to loosen on the threaded rod and allow the clamp to unhook from the bike or fall off. Thus, until Thule comes out with an update, users may find as we did, that retightening every 50 miles or so is advisable.
The first Thule rep on phone blew me off, but second actually thought enough to understand and pass it on to design.

Hello Leroy,

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with the EasyFold XT 2. The problems you are describing with the locking knobs sound like they might not be tightened completely to the specified torque. The knobs should be turned until they "click" and then locked so they free-spin without tightening. Thule recommends checking the rack frequently during transit as vibrations from the road can loosen tensioning mechanism on any bike rack.

Thule does not offer tail light attachments for North American EasyFold XT 2 bike racks, since the racks are manufactured in Europe, which uses a different electrical hookup. The rack does have a set of reflectors to aid in visibility.

Not for an e-Mtn Bike as advertised!!!

I purchased this rack because the kiosk for Thule said e-Bikes use EasyFold XT 2. I purchase it and my Specialized Levo Turbo will not fit!!! The bottom of the Levo is frame is too big to have the clamp fit securely, and it will not fit on the inside rake because the short clamp is out of position to clamp to anything.

Thank you for sharing your feedback on the Thule EasyFold XT 2. I understand your frustration with your bike not fitting the rack.
The Thule EasyFold XT 2 is designed to fit most ebikes, but some styles with exceptionally large frames, or more unique geometries may struggle to find a fit. The adjustable clamp arms can be moved to many different mounting points along the upright to attach to different parts of the bike, so some experimentation may be needed to confirm if your bike is a good fit for the rack. Unfortunately, not every bike will be a fit for the carrier, and this may be one of these cases. The bike manufacturer may have some suggestions on other options for transportation.

Not that great

I bought this after seeing a review from an Ebike reviewer. It seemed to be good for fat tire bikes. I have a Lectric Ebike and have just used it for the first time today. Well let me tell you the legs holding the bike are not long enough to securely hold this bike. I felt like the wheels of thr bike were literally hanging off the rack. I was very worried abiut taling this on the road and roped it up very well. It felt like one good bump and the tires would be out of the grove. The groves are nit wide or deep eniught for fat tire bikes. I loved the ramp but again it was not wide enough. This rack was extremely expensive and I have had to buy another rack which will now cause me to lift thembike onto the rack. I am hoping I can sell this rack and recoup some of the cost, since I only used it once. Loved the rack but not suitable for fat tire Ebikes.

I have read that the latch that holds the bikes in let’s go, while you are driving, and should secure your bike with other options. Has this ever happened to you.

Do not buy if you have fat tires!!!

I'm sorry I bought this bike rack. Do not buy if you have a bike with fat tires. Straps that come with bike rack are too short. I've been waiting 6 months for them to get the longer straps and they are never in. Spent the whole summer traveling with velcro straps I had to add on holding my breath my bikes do not come off the rack. Who needs the hassle!
