I've been using it for a while now, and it's been a game-changer in the kitchen. It's so easy to cook food perfectly every time - no more guessing or overcooking! The only thing I would improve is adding some physical controls to the device itself. While the app works well, it would be nice to have the option to adjust settings without having to pull out my phone. Overall, though, I'm super happy with my sous vide device and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to up their cooking game.
I've cooked numerous things in this already and I love it. Burgers, chuck roast, ribeyes, soft boiled eggs,... The chuck roast turned out, particularly fantastic. Perfectly cooked tender and moist. Seared the ribeyes on the grill after... awesome.
I've been using my new Joule Turbo Sous Vide for around 3 weeks now. It has changed the way I cook forever. I'm still learning but the Breville app makes it easy to know how to cook whatever protein I want. So far so good. Love it!
I'm glad I bought this. It has helped me make moist, delicious chicken breasts, perfect soft boiled eggs and a slightly overcooked meatloaf. There was no meatloaf recipe or cooking instructions in the Breville+ app so I guessed. That's my fault, I should have looked up a sous vide recipe online (they're out there), but IMHO a meatloaf recipe should be in the app. Maybe it's not "gourmet" (although, with the right recipe I think it could be), but it's a common dish.
Sous vide cooking is new to us and we love it! The breville app that we downloaded guides us through the cooking times. We seal the food in a bag, put it in the water, start the app and walk away! Added bonus - no messy pans to clean!
I love, love, love my Joules and, for years, have used them to sous vide what my husband refers to as "MRE" -- pork shoulder steaks, beef ribs, chicken breasts, mini meatloaves, etc. -- all cooked and ready to quickly "finish" for a fast healthy meal. Though I have used several Breville+ Turbo Recipes in my Joule Oven, I must admit that I have only used the Joule "Turbo" settings for chicken breasts (juicy and succulent) and pork tenderloin (pink, just the way hubby wants it). If I were purchasing my first Joule today, I would definitely invest in the upgraded capability and technology, but will continue to use my non-Turbo Joules, as well.
We have had a Joule Sous Vide machine since they first came out but just go the Turbo. With the new Breville + app it is extremely easy to operate with great recipes on the app and the Turbo function is great for reducing cooking time for steaks. I only wish there were turbo functions for more things.
