Oven smokes, burns food

Thanks for taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention. Here are a couple of tips that could help with your concerns.
If the oven is cooking too hot for the temperature selected, you can adjust the actual oven temperature to be less than what is displayed, using the instructions on page 38 in the Use and Care Guide.
Broiling is direct heat cooking and may produce smoke. If the unit is smoking excessively during broiling, place food further away from the element.
Air Fry uses hot air to cook and when some high-fat or greasy foods meet the hot air inside the oven, some smoke is normal. If there is a lot of smoke, please try the tips listed in the below link.

Beautiful range with a decent amount of quirks

In our new home we were looking for a range that had similar features to the range in our old home. Some of the features we wanted were ball bearing gliding oven racks and probe cooking. The PCFE3078AF appeared to have the majority of the features we were looking for. Fast forward to today and we have buyer's remorse. For starters, one of the wires for the surface element was pinched during manufacturing. This caused sparks to shoot out of the range the first time we used the oven when the insulation burned off the wire and it shorted to the chassis. Next, the design of the surface elements are less than ideal as there is only one large element in the front. All of the elements seem way underpowered compared to our old range. Also, the oven is temperamental. The temperature is set using a potentiometer dial rather than a digital control. On several occasions the oven temperature will get set "between" two temperatures causing it to switch back and forth to preheat mode. During preheat the broiler element is activated so when this happens it will burn the items in your oven and the control panel will constantly beep until you slightly turn the temperature adjustment knob. It seems like long term reliability is questionable and I would hesitate to recommend this range. I've rated it 2 stars because it really is a nice looking range.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have truly enjoyed using my new stove and oven. However, do not like how hot my kitchen gets when the oven is in use. I have not had this problem in the past when using my old stove and oven.
