Great Product

I bought the A30 headset as a Christmas present for my grandson who just received his Private Pilot's license. While preparing for his flight test, he borrowed an A30 headset to use going into and out of a busy airport that he no doubt would be doing during his test. He was very impressed with the comfort, clarity and noise cancelation of the A30 headset.

Hang on to the A20.

I upgraded from the A20 and upgrade is a strong term. I feel like this headset wasn’t tested for normal situations. The tap function seems to go off randomly, I just turned it off completely. It doesn’t work well with sunglasses, even aviation’s. There is an imperfect seal around the ear when sunglasses are used. It takes very little to set off the noise cancelling to start pulsing in your ear. Such as a light blowing from an air vent or turning your head too far one direction. The mic picks up everything and is designed so that you can hear yourself breathing very easily. It’s more comfortable but the clamp force is so little I find it falling off my head. The selector for high, medium and low noise cancelling seems silly and I wouldn’t select less than high to get the same effect as the A20s. The sound quality in the headset itself is less than the A20s. Almost an echo effect or low quality speaker sound. It’s not crisp.

Like Them...Don't Love Them

I love Bose and have many many products. I am a 737 pilot. So here is my review. I was using the Bose X (10) headset for almost 16 years and loved them. I have been wanting to upgrade to the Bose A30 for a long time but didn't have a reason. Finally my Bose X boom broke from the ear cup. I was so excited !!! I finally had a reason to buy the A30's. I thought this would be a life changing buy....It was not. I do like them but I don't love them. Here is why. They suck up A LOT of battery. The noise canceling, while I was told should be better than the X, I find not the case. When you move your head I get a lot of "fluttering" . I was told that it maybe because of the digital noise canceling and very sensitive to leaks in the ear cup like sun glasses or glasses. The same with or without glasses. Maybe over time they might seal better. I feel the Bose X was better. I do like the Bluetooth my Bose X didn't have. I also feel the clamping is slightly less than the Bose X. As of now I plan to keep them.

Great Pilot Product!!

This is an awesome piece of equipment. I’m new to using ANR headsets but I’m glad that I ordered this one. It’s superior comfort and 3 settings and tap controls allow me to hear the engine noise on takeoff and approach when I need to and stay plugged into conversations both inside and outside my headset.

A30 = New Standard!

Owned for two weeks and used twice so far. Very comfortable and performs well. Appreciate the varying levels of noise cancellation. Owned the A20 and Lightspeed which were always great but these are the new standard worth the investment.

Purchased my A30 and with all Bose products the quality
Is there and on point.
The noise canceling was so good that it makes flying an old cessna allot less exhausting and most enjoyable.
