More pleased with mop than vacuum

I bought my first roomba in 2009 and it's still going strong with nearly daily use (some parts replaced over the years).
I bought this 1. because my house has two floors 2. for the mopping function.
The vacuum leaves me underwhelmed. I run the highest setting on 3x, and still feel like my old robot does a better job It makes more passes, has a brush that touches the floor (better to pick up fine cat litter/dust), and gets closer to the walls and furniture (where cat fur tumbleweeds accumulate). Don't get me wrong, the roborock S8 does vacuum! I just expected more (to not have to spot clean with a hand broom afterwards).
The mop, however, is very convenient and I'm more pleased with that!

I love this thing! There are a lot of robot vacuums out there and most of them probably do the same stuff so it really comes down to reading reviews for most of us- I read a ton of them before making this purchase. This has proven to be a good one for me.
I run the vacuum 3X/week. I manually empty the dustbin which is easy to do. The mop works ok but I wasn't expecting anything super awesome there- the mop cloth gets filthy so clearly it works (buy extra pads).
I have no complaints and I would buy this again.

It was easy to set up and use straight from the box. It seems to do a great job vacuuming and moping as well as cleaning the mop. It mapped my main floor and upstairs and I'm using the self emptying doc (purchased separately) on the main level and the other docking station that came with the vacuum upstairs. It can find either one, as long as it starts from the doc. This way it recharges while I'm at work for the next day and I move it up and down the stairs when the other level needs to be cleaned. I have only used water to mop so far because of the warning. I suspect I could use any mop solution, but am hesitant to try it. Water alone seems to be lifting enough dirt for now.
