The mattress is fine. It's comfortable and supportive. I personally would prefer it to be a bit firmer. I would rate it on the plush side of firm. I do wake up feeling I got a good nights rest.

You're correct, as of 2018 we made a change to our Original Mattress removing half of an inch of the base foam which made it a touch softer and took some of the height off. That said, you don't have to feel stuck with something you don't love.
