Completely NOT what I expected. I prefer a firm mattress (at least I have over the past 46 years and using a metal spring mattress) so I was worried about foam. The mattress seems to provide the firmness (although it feels different) and also the softness. I can DEFINITELY tell that the bed is not pushing back against me on my pressure point areas.
