I have a degenerative disc in my lower back and previous foam mattresses were far too soft for me to be able to sleep on comfortably. My Tuft&Needle mattress is the PERFECT firmness. It's wonderful to wake up with less back pain :) and my dog loves it too!

It's harder than what we were looking for but that's what we get for shopping online. We were trying not to go to store during the pandemic. The price we pay for keeping my wife safe who is waiting for hart surgery.

It's really a great mattress. Before this I was sleeping on a typical American style massive mattress and box spring. It was too soft and wasn't supporting my body while I was sleeping. This Tuft and Needle mattress is pretty light for its size, which will be nice when it comes time to move. I would highly recommend this mattress.

So we bought this mattress looking for medium softness yet supportive. My husband and I are back and side sleepers. This mattress ended up being so firm, I woke up with terrible neck and shoulder pain every morning.
I contacted customer service after about 2 weeks to start a return. They were fine with starting the return process but first offered their mattress topper for free to add some more foam. With the mattress topper, this bed is perfect! I am now so happy with our bed and so impressed by the prompt and generous customer service.
So my ultimate recommendation would be to go with the mint or the topper if you’re a side sleeper at all because this mattress is much too firm and rough on your shoulders and hips without some extra foam on top.
