Unfortunately, this mattress isn't very comfortable. I really wanted to like it considering other reviews. It is too firm and does not cool as claimed. The first month that I had the mattress I kept waking up sweaty, although my A/C was running.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After purchasing and returning a mattress from another company, my partner and I were really sick of the mattress-buying process. I did so much research and we were still unhappy with our choice! Feeling annoyed, I went back to the drawing board. Luckily a colleague of mine had just purchased a Tuft&Needle mattress and couldn’t stop raving about it - we decided to give it a try. So happy we did! I love the plush/firm balance. Never expected that a coil-free mattress could be so supportive!

My wife and I really wanted to love this mattress, and there is a lot to like: good quality construction, and probably the best value of any of the big mattress-in-a-box brands based on price alone. However, we're going to end up returning/donating it: it's just too firm for our taste. Definitely more of a "7/7.5" on the mattress hardness scale that apparently exists according to all the mattress websites out there. If you like a firmer mattress, might be a good option for you, though.

Love our mattress

We have had this mattress for a couple of years now and it shows no wear or change since we bought it. We love the comfort of this mattress and are now ordering a second mattress.

Excellent for side sleepers. Not so great for tummy sleepers.
Most likely not an issue for children.
There wasn’t really a smell either - which I was kind of expecting. So that was good!
