The bed has no edge so it's completely smooth all around. This cuts off room because you can't get too close to the edge if you don't want to slide right off (almost happened a few times). This should come standard and no one should have to pay extra for this. Other than that, it is not a side sleeper friendly bed so it is a generally hard bed. No other complaints.

Just too hot and unsupportive

I wanted to love this mattress so badly, but after sleeping on this for almost 4 years I can't stand it any longer. There are two issues: the heat and lack of support for side sleeping.
I tried everything I could think of to reduce the heat - lighter comforter, no comforter, "cooling" bamboo fiber mattress pad, nothing worked. All it takes is lying on the mattress for about 15 minutes and I'm tossing and turning trying to find a new cool spot. As a late 20's woman who lives in Minnesota and is a notoriously cold sleeper this is baffling.
Related to the side sleeping, I've found that the foam just does not offer enough rigidity to feel supported while sleeping on my side. I have this "teetering" sensation and find myself wanting to roll more towards my stomach or curl up into more of a fetal position to try and get more support, usually leaving me with sore shoulders in the morning. I tried many different kinds of pillows hoping that was the issue, but to no avail.
Based on my experience, I imagine that this mattress is best for back sleepers who fall asleep very quickly.
