Look beautiful but less option.

I was excited to put this set together. After finished, I feel the value of this set compared to cost is too high. All Animal characters are bland and so regular. I couldn't tell who is it and who different than other probs. The Minifigures are too less, should be all sisters mermaid characters in the movie.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Fun, Colorful Build with Room for Improvement

I really had fun building this set to be honest. The colors are AMAZING and even beyond my expectations. It looks great as a display piece. Two slight improvements I would make that are echoed in some other reviews. 1. I would have liked the back of the shell to be finished off. As such, it has to be placed against a wall for display. 2. I would have liked a bit more thought into the Sebastian figure. At least give him a face instead of using a generic crab figure that you are likely to get out of a summer VIP add-on pack. Aside from that though, like I said, I really enjoyed this build overall and grew up with Little Mermaid, so am excited to have it in my collection.

I can't believe they made sebas as a generic lego crab and flounder looks terrible. They should have gone with the animated version of sebastian and flounder. Or just overall gone with the animated version instead of the live action. They didn't even added the two eels, flotsam and jetsam. And to top it off the back side of the shell is incomplete.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Little Set!

Before building I was a little concerned that the claimshell part would be repetitive and it would become more tedious that fun. Not a worry at all!
This set came together very quickly, and I loved how you didn’t really get the full picture until the final couple of steps and then - voila! - all of a sudden it all came together and looked great!
The positives for me are the minifigures (with the exception of Sebastian), and just how colorful and fun this set looks when it’s done. After I completed building it I just kept on looking at on taking in the details and colors.
No real negatives - other than like I stated above that Sebastian is not the best - just a generic red crab. You can’t display it from the back, but it wasn’t designed to, and I’d rather have the price point lower than spend it on bricks that no one will see. Just be aware of that if you are planning on displaying it where it you can see it from all angles.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Beautiful Set

The set itself is more than gorgeous. I have to agree with the other reviewers that say that the back felt unfinished, but I display it facing forward so that’s no major issue. There’s a great selection of mini figures, and Ursula’s little hut is full of detail. The only thing I would change is how sturdy the back piece attached to the bottom. It scares me a bit to pick it up, but it sticks together well.

I'm blown away by how many details and cool easter eggs from the movie this set actually has! From Ariel's gadgets and gizmos to Ursula's potions...this set has it all! The building went by fast, and you won't get bored because each section of the set is so much fun to complete and admire.
I would recommend this to a friend!
