Despite the bad reviews I purchased and loved it

There were many mixed reviews but I bought it anyway and it was just fine no missing pieces I finished with extra pieces the wings are attached for sturdy and am not afraid of moving it at all. It’s a Lego though so of course if you are rough with it something could come apart. It’s aged appropriately for it to be a display not a child’s play toy if I let a kid play with it, it would definitely break. The bad reviews on this item made the experience worse for me because I was nervous the whole time that I may have made a bad purchase, that there would be missing pieces or it would be to fragile to assemble but it turned out great and I recommend to anyone who was considering but hesitant because of reviews. I’m 32 and haven’t built legos in a long time this is my first set in adulthood and it took me around 4 hours to complete. Last phot is all the extra pieces this only made me nervous that I missed something but they were definitely just duplicates.

Pass on this

I wanted this set to be so much better. I wanted an x-wing to match the tie fighter (set 75095) but this set it not it. From the sagging wings (due to lack of support) to the stand loosing pieces when used, this set is lacking. To say I was disappointed is an understatement statement.

A disappointment

This is the most fragile of the kits I own in the UCS range. Too many components are held on by one or two 2 stud connections. This makes handling this kit absolutely maddening as you need to fix something every time.
The stand will break under the weight of the model if you rotate the stand without removing the model or lifting the whole thing. I'm disappointed in these obvious issues making it into production

Solid Collector's Piece - Below Average Build

As a collector's piece it's great. It's the freaking X-Wing! And its the most detailed one that LEGO has ever put out. As something to put on your shelf to look at and show off, its fantastic.
That being said, it wasn't fun to build because it's incredibly repetitive (the 4 wings are nearly identical). Also the wing mechanism is flimsy at best. This is not a set you want to play with. It's for looking at.

Enjoyable Build, QA Lacking
on May 11, 2023

While I thoroughly enjoyed the build process, my #4 bag was missing one of the two dark red 6214309 plates for the nose section, and it was seemingly replaced with a piece that is never even used in the set. Thankfully I had some workable spares from the recent Z28 Camaro set. On top of this, the box the set came in was barely holding closed. When I tilted the box the weight from all the bags was enough to break the seal. This is just disappointing quality control on Lego's part, especially for a UCS set. Other than these 2 issues, this set looks amazing and is a great display piece.

X-Wing Review
on September 30, 2023

I was excited to get a new UCS X-Wing, but I was very disappointed. The build is fun and the minifigures are great. The problem comes once it is assembled... if you breathe on this set, it will explode. I'm used to sets that are fragile, but if you touch this set, then a piece on the opposite side with shoot off. The stand is a joke, and the panels near the wings are supposed to be held on by hopes and dreams. Looks great, just never touch it... Picture... I touched it...

Awesome concept

I love star wars and my wife graciously allowed me to buy this set around may 4th. I have built other sets in the past so I know that some of these can be pretty difficult to build and get together. This one is sadly testing my patience, I cant get the side pieces to stay on no matter what I do. I have read others who say to build the nosecone section then to try and hold it all together that way. Sadly it just does not want to work. I don’t like to super glue my sets but I am at a point I may just so I can have it as a display piece. Lego needs to take a look at this build and adjust these issues before I would recommend the set to anyone else.

First UCS Disappointment
on May 15, 2023

I was so excited to close out the trio of Rebel starships from the original Lucasarts X-wing game. Unfortunately the whole set feels cheap and poorly thought out. UCS kits aren't play kits, but the opening mechanism is totally inadequate for the weight of the wings. Two tiny rubber bands hold the wings open and they're just not cutting it. The attached Photo is at maximum opening. The whole build seems poorly thought out. Wings should have been assembled opposite each other to balance the mechanism to avoid overstretching those rubber bands. Right now instructions have you build the bottom wings first. I was worried the flimsy rubber bands would snap. If you pick up the model everything shakes and bounces and feels like it's going to fall apart. Considering how awesome the Y-wing and A-wing kits were I'm pretty disappointed.
