Best build so far

I was very reluctant to buy this because of the reviews and cost but I am very satisfied with my purchase. I’m 50 and fell in love with legos again after a Christmas present and haven’t looked back. I’ve seen a few reviews talking about nose cones or wings not fitting properly and I did have a few problems at first but I’ve learned if it doesn’t seem to fit or work properly to stop and look again. This has helped me numerous times. Not that it wasn’t put properly in the instructions how to do it but I think many times after building LEGOS for an hour your mind may drift a bit and mistakes happen. Mine functions extremely well and everything fit perfectly except for one piece I was having a small problem with but as the build progressed it fit into another and no problems after.
I think if you read bad reviews it may actually not be so much LEGOS fault on this one. Just from what I have seen.
SPOILER ALERT: The only thing I was not very found of other than the one piece I couldn’t get to fit 100% correctly (I think) was one part needs rubber bands. Not that it’s horrible or anything at all and after finishing the build I completely see why it was done but it’s legos, not rubber bands. Also not a fan of the beginning of the manual at all but you can’t please everyone.
In my opinion very well worth the money and time you spend creating it. I’d definitely do it again and look forward to my next build.

Horrible build

I have never screamed so many expletives in all my life. This thing falls apart the moment you add things to it. I had to use super glue to get things to stay. Horrible. How on earth did this ever pass the LEGO approval? Truly. I want a refund, sadly it was a Christmas gift.
Going in the garbage, because that’s where it belongs!

Looks good, not terribly solid

I am just getting back into Lego building, loved it as a kid in the 70s and 80s. This is my second UCS set, the first being Luke Skywalker’s land speeder.
I did enjoy this build, took about 10 hours total build time. I thought it was a little more challenging than the Landspeeder.
I love the size of the model! I think it was pretty good value for the money. Also, I have always had a great experience with the pieces - I had all the pieces I needed to complete.
I did find the end of the build a little fragile. As I was attaching the wings, some of the body side panels would pop off. As I put the panel on, another would pop off. This was frustrating.
Overall, the model looks great! It was fun, and relaxing. I would have liked the side panels to be less fragile.

Terrible Engineering

When all assembled, assuming that you can actually get all of the pieces on at the same time, the model is very good looking (which is why I gave it a second star). BUT... of the 40 or so Lego models I've built, this was by far the least enjoyable. The build was beyond frustrating; major pieces are held on by only a couple studs, when you put one piece on, something else falls off. And if you do get it assembled, DO NOT trying to move it. Simply the process of handling it causes parts to fall off. At the moment it is sitting on a table with a couple dozen miscellaneous pieces sitting next to it that fell off when moving it from one side of the room to the other. I cannot recommend this model to anyone.

This set looks good once finished but the build process is beyond frustrating. Been building legos for 25+ years and this is the only set I’ve had to go back and rebuild multiple times due to a poor design causing the interior pieces to fall apart. The wings and frame are very frail and fall off with a light touch. Had to end up glueing pieces for a final result. Would not recommend this set at this price point.

The wing mechanism is good and relatively smooth compared to the play sets. However, I was extremely disappointed by the fact that you can't fit a mini figure in the cockpit, despite it being massive. Also, the nose is ugly and doesn't lineup in many places. Terrible value for the price, Concord and other similar sets are a lot better for a lower price.
