[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I appreciate the ease of switching between continuous drain and the built in bucket when I move the dehumidifier from one location to another. Simply remove the cap and connect a hose or remove the hose and replace the cap.

Worked good for a year. Now it has an error code EC. Won't shut off, and won't work.

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with your dehumidifier displaying EC. An EC code may appear due to excessive outside temperatures or insufficient voltage. Please ensure that the temperature in the room is between 41 and 96 degrees Fahrenheit and the outlet voltage is at 115V(+/-10%). We recommend unplugging the appliance for at least 30 seconds to reset the computer if you have not done so already. Works great - for as long as it works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously had their 70 pint unit that worked great for approx. 3.5 years until the coils started icing up. I replaced it with this 50 pint unit and it has been operating without issue for about 1.5 years and now it is also icing up the coils.
I contacted Frigidaire and they said to turn it off and unplug it for 24 hours, then restart it at a higher humidity setting and slowly lower the humidity setting until it was where I wanted it. I did this and started it at 65%, after about 12 hours it was still working OK so I lowered it to 50%. About 24 hours later I went down to lower it to my preferred range of 40-45%, but the coils were starting to ice up again. (Note, this is used in our basement and the temperature has not even been close to the lower operating limit (41 degrees) of this unit, so this should not be happening.)
Nothing has changed in the past week and the environment is the same one that it operated without problem for a 1.5 years (and in which the previous one had operated for 3.5 years), so I fail to understand why this happened. Maybe they just aren't as good as they say they are (or as they have been in the past).
Getting in touch with anybody to discuss this issue is an exercise in futility as the website doesn't let me click on any of the contact links to try and discuss this with someone, and their phone contacts are not very helpful in what they can do.
I will need to replace this soon and will look around to see what other alternatives are out there in hopes of finding something that will provide a greater degree of longevity (like in the 3-5+ years of service range).
