I hate it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In less than one year, my dehumidifier is leaking and the EC error code (error for outside normal operating temperatures range) comes on even when it’s 80 degrees inside. Also the water tank is poorly designed - it is mostly closed off so you can’t clean inside it easily even though mold will grow inside.

You will be lucky to get a year of use maybe

The unit was only used for a few months out of year. Mind you this unit was made in china date 10/2019 and I got it in 2020. Lasted for about 3 months in the central oregon climate that is particularly dry. It started failing in the spring and went to try it again after it sat for sometime and it still wont work.

Quit collecting water almost 2 years to the day of purchase

I am extremely tired of appliances not lasting as they should and ending up in a landfill well before their time. I currently use two dehumidifiers in my basement. The unit that this Frigidaire one replaced lasted just over 3 years (one month after the warranty expired). While one I HAVE HAD FOR 32 YEARS just started making weird squealing noises this week so I had to unplug it. Where has our quality in manufacturing gone? I’m tired of paying top dollar for cr@p! I am considering just letting the basement be humid rather than once again research a product only to be fooled once more with garbage. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER FRIGIDARE/ELECTROLUX PRODUCT AND ANY OTHER AFFILIATED PRODUCT AGAIN!

Short Life Expectancy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about 2 years ago. My original unit worked fine for about 11 months and then quit working completely. It was replaced with a new unit under warranty. The new unit also worked great...for about 11 months. It then also quit working and was replaced my a new unit under warranty. I've had the new unit for about 3 months and it's working great. We'll see how long this one lasts. If you buy one of these, definitely purchase the extended warranty!

Saved Our House!!!!

Sad at the loss, we had a fun time moving into a beautiful property (our first) with a lake off our backyard, an acre of land and a decent structure of a house. Or so we thought. We didn't not know but over 40 years the house had developed water issues and had slowly started sinking into a sink hole. The walls and the roof had developed cracks and we were unaware.
The storms started this past fall and the house was slowly getting soaked. We noticed at first a ceiling stain, then rapidly other signs. Very quickly, we started getting sick, developing mold and wood rot. It advanced to a point where we watched 200 cracks develop in our foundation, walls bowing and ceilings falling in... over three days. Though we clearly needed a construction crew and did hire one, I started with one Frigidaire WiFi 70 pint (50 pint equivalent) dehumidifier. First, it registered the humidity so we knew where we stood. Our master bedroom was 85% humidity. Almost swimmable. I attached a hose out the door and ran it for two days. It dried all the wood, the clothes, the carpet the bedding etc... Gallons and gallons of water everyday. I was so thoroughly impressed, I bought a second 50 pint unit from another company. To my surprise, even though it was rated well online, it only pulled 1/10th what the Frigidaire pulled. I returned it immediately and bought the model for this review, the 50 pint dehumidifier with pump. Well, excellent. It performed just as well as the WiFi unit. The automatic pump adds a nice set-it-and-forget-it feature. We love them. We have blown every penny we had trying to save the house (cuz it's a free house) and the best money spent was clearly these two Frigidaire Dehumidifiers.
Frigidaire, thank you so much for the wonderful over-achieving products! You don't even realize from your side, as a company wanting to profit and provide, how you touch other people's lives. I literally accredit you for saving the house before it collapsed. It couldn't absorb any more water and though there are many repairs left to do, these two products may have kept our house standing on their own. The air is so nice in here. Finally.

Breaks within a year

I bought this April 28, 2020. My mother bought one at the same time. We use them in our basements. BOTH of them quit working by August 2021. They both keep showing code EC and freeze up. I contacted Frigidaire and was told to get a repairman to look at it and if he can fix it for less than I paid, do that or buy a new one. It’s junk. Don’t buy this product and don’t buy Frigidaire. I’m furious.

Auto shut off failed and home floor flooded.

I just had a household "appliance" mishap/ malfunction that probably caused (or will cause) lots of damage inside the house. A Frigidaire dehumidifier malfunctioned in a recently redone room (gutted and everything replaced.. walls/ floors/ etc...). The dehumidifier has automatic shutoff when the water level in the water holder goes above a certain high point, but apparently it did not work for today at least. Normally it shuts off and gives an alarm so you can empty the dehumidifier bucket.

LEAKING DEHUMIDIFIER

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] AFTER THREE WEEKS OF USING THE NEW DEHUMIDIFIER (A REPLACEMENT UNDER WARRANTY) WE ARE HAVING WATER SHOWING UP ON THE BASEMENT FLOOR UNDER THE APPLIANCE....MAYBE A 1/2 PINT EACH DAY....
IN ADDITION, THE SECOND TIME I TRIED TO EMPTY THE WATER DRAWER THE HANDLE CAME LOOSE FROM IT ATTACHMENT...THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES. NOW I AM HOLDING THE DRAWER BY THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT WHEN I CARRY IT TO THE SINK....
OBVIOUSLY WE ARE NOT TOO HAPPY WITH THE REPLACEMENT DEHUMIDIFIER....WE WILL HAVE TO CALL THE COMPANY TO SEE WHAT THEY WILL DO ABOUT IT....
THIS IS THE THIRD FRIGIDAIRE DEHUMIDIFIER FOR US AND WE LIKED THE WAY THE FRIGIDAIRE UNITS TOOK THE WATER OUT OF OUR BASEMENT....HOWEVER, THE LAST TWO HAVE HAD ISSUES....
I AM A VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER THIS TIME...I HAVE ALWAYS APPRECIATED AND TRUSTED THE FRIGIDAIRE BRANDS IN THE PAST...
