Can the timer be set so that the dehumidifier operates on a 12-hours-on /12-hours-off cycle? If not, would it damage to the machine to have the power source on a timer to achieve that cycle?

Fills up the tank pretty quick.
I have used about a month, it works pretty well.

works well in basement!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this unit about 2 weeks ago, to replace a GE dehumidifier in my basement that had stopped working over a year ago. So far, I'm very pleased with it. It's easy to operate, and it has been filling up the reservoir every 12 hours or so, so it's been pulling a lot of moisture out of the air.

Works as expected!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We decided to go with a model with a built in condensate pump so it could drain into our washing machine drain line. Worth it!! We never have to empty the bucket now, which is especially nice when we are on trips. Just be careful to connect the drain line securely because it leaked the first time the pump ran. Luckily I was there to catch this and reattach drain pump.

Expensive but good purchase

I researched this item prior to purchase and found it was top of the line in the 2Gal. Category.. it's expensive but seems like a good investment. I'll know how great it is on saving energy when I get my electric bill..
