Very nice dehumidifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had several dehumidifiers over the years (they seem to only last 1 or 2 years) and this is my favorite so far. Mainly because it's the quietest one we've had so far. The fan is a little quieter than the others, but the main thing is that it doesn't buzz and rattle like the others did. It's also easy to use and service the filter. The pump feature 3mpties the water itself and you can collect it or have pimp to a sink or drain. I recommend getting an extended warranty with any dehumidifier, like I said, they just don't last long.

Great Dehumidifier

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned smaller dehumidifiers that had functioned well over several years but did not perform close to the Frigidaire purchase we have recently made. The capacity is much higher and the fill time is significantly less. Because of owning an older home, we have dealt with continuous moisture in the basement. Our new Frigidaire dehumidifier has made a big difference and I highly recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The high humidity 50 pint dehumidifier with built in pump is a gem. We love knowing that it’s keeping our finished basement dry and that we don’t have to empty it. So no carrying a heavy container of water to dispose of it. When it fills up, it just empties itself.

Ok but who designed this??

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First night it collected 2.11 gallons from a very humid basement running on continuous/low fan speed. But I have issues with its stupid design. Apparently all new dehumidifiers are designed to “look” sleek by putting the vent to the back and having a solid white front broken only by the line of the bucket. - very poor idea. Older models, when placed near a wall, worked fine with the vent and bucket access unobstructed at the front. But if you want to put this new design against a wall (best to have it out in the open, but people will always push it against a wall at some point) especially in smaller spaces like a hallway.) The vent needs to be unobstructed - the back side (where the vent is) needs to face out but it looks bad, cord is now on the wrong side, hose connection sticks out, etc.) - and then the bucket is on the opposite side towards the wall so you have to turn it around to empty the bucket. I saw a review with a photo where it was backed up to a furnace with the sleek looking front facing out - even though they gave favorable rating, they weren’t aware there is not adequate air flow to the vent in the back. This will decrease efficiency and reduce the life of the unit. The "splash guard" causes more spills when trying to empty it than without a splash guard. And the bucket fills ALL the way to the brim - it spills when trying to remove the bucket from the unit and then upon pouring it out- such a messy joke! This is something that should be so easy to fix. Also, the low fan speed isn’t low enough - (167 cfm versus 155 cfm on whirlpool). Condensation collects better at lower speeds. Wish it was slower - I will never be using the higher speeds. Best if it runs longer or continuously at slow fan speed than shorter times at hi fan speeds. I wish designers would actually use what they design.

Ices up - started just when warranty ended
on July 31, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just about a year in, my dehumidifier started icing up. I thawed it out and tried the fixes I found online - made sure the basement temperature was warm (ha! it's 90 degrees out), checked the coils were clean, and made sure there was adequate airflow all around. It iced up again. Tried again - same result. By the time I called the company it was out of warranty. I'm a very unhappy customer.

We appreciate the time to make a review, LisB24. We are sorry to hear that you have had this experience thus far, and we can understand your frustrations. Frigidaire provides very comprehensive warranties with each product to guard against any parts that may be defective at the time of manufacture. However, we are sure you can appreciate that a point is eventually reached when the manufacturer's responsibility for repairs under the initial warranty must end. If your dehumidifier is experiencing an ice buildup issue when turned on recently, please know that this is normal due to refrigerant rushing through the coil. Frost will usually disappear within 60 minutes. or it might be that the room temperature is too low. All models will operate satisfactorily at temperatures greater than 41 °F (5 °C). If there is anything we can do to improve your experience, please let us know. You can reach out to us via live chat at frigidaire.com or by phone at 1-800-374-4432. Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST, and our experts will be happy to assist. - Christi

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dehumidifier has done a fantastic job of pulling tons of moisture out of the air in our basement, and having the pump means we can just let it run and not worry about dumping it out all of the time!
