As we purchased this product along with our new house almost a month ago, and this product hasn’t ever disappointed us till this very day. This range hood, while visually appealing, is unfortunately constructed with poor material quality. After just 2 years, the blower motor has failed, and replacing it costs as much as purchasing a new unit. This design is not only disappointing but also leads to costly replacements. GE should consider improving their product design to avoid overcharging customers for essential parts.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Buyer Beware - Blower Motor Failure

This is a beautiful vent hood, and it works great. Unfortunately, it doesn't work long.
The damper flap fails, and binds the blower motor. You'll also find that the replacement of the blower motor costs as much, or more, as the entire unit.
it's a problematic design, and I encourage you to perform an internet search for this model and "damper flap failure." This is a known issue, without an affordable fix.
