Hood fan is very noisy. It is also mounted so high that it doesn't do a good job of pulling out smoke from the stove. Even though it has several light settings, the light is not very bright. Also, the top of the hood shows dust easily. The fan came with our new home. It may look good but wouldn't be my choice in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd like to help go over the sounds you are noticing and with the ventilation.
If you are noticing louder than normal sounds and poor ventalation, we recommend checking the ductwork. This hood requires 8" minimum ducting. Any smaller can cause improper airflow and increased sounds. Also, ensure that nothing is blocking the vents.
