Just set up the Dehumidifier which was a replacement for a defective one so too soon to evaluate this one.

Hello BNRJ,
I'm so sorry to hear that you're having concerns with your Danby Dehumidifier. I want to start by thanking you for sharing your experience with us. It's completely normal for a new appliance to take some time to get adjusted to, especially if it's a replacement for a previous one.
One thing to consider is that dehumidifiers work best in areas with high humidity. If your home is relatively dry, it might not be extracting as much moisture as you'd like, which could be causing you to think it's not working properly. Have you considered checking the humidity level in your home, or adjusting the dehumidifier's settings to suit your space?
If you're still experiencing issues, I'd be happy to contract our consumer service team to provide you with further resolution. They'll be able to help you troubleshoot and offer any necessary assistance.
In the meantime, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to our consumer service team at consumerservice@danby.com via email. We're here to help and want to make sure you're completely satisfied with your Danby Dehumidifier.
Regards, Earl.

Good product and Company that backs it's product

I was very happy with my Danby Dehumidifier for the last year and 8 months. It somehow stopped working but following Danby's instructions they were very good at replacement it with the same model. That was very important for me because their pump feature is what I need in a dehumidif
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello MomFelicia,
I'm sorry to hear that your Danby Dehumidifier stopped working after the warranty period expired. I can imagine how frustrating that must be for you. It's possible that the unit may have reached the end of its lifespan due to regular use over time.
I would recommend checking and ensuring that the unit is properly maintained, such as regular cleaning of the filter and ensuring it is placed in a well-ventilated area. However, if the issue persists, please don't hesitate to contact our consumer service team at consumerservice@danby.com via email, where we can work with you to provide a solution under warranty or assist you in exploring other options.
Regards, Earl.

Response from danby.comBy Earl, customer service, February 6, 2025
Hi Bob,
I'm so sorry to hear that your Danby dehumidifier didn't meet your expectations. It's disappointing to hear that it failed before the 2-year mark. I'd like to help you better understand what might have caused the issue.
Dehumidifiers can be sensitive to high temperatures, humidity levels, and poor air circulation. It's possible that these factors may have contributed to the unit's failure. I'd recommend checking if the unit was placed in an area with adequate ventilation and if the temperature and humidity levels in your home were within the recommended range.
If you're still experiencing issues or have any further concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our consumer service team at consumerservice@danby.com via email. They'll be happy to assist you further and work with you to find a resolution.
Regards, Earl

Frost Build Up

It works well within 1.5 years. After that, it appears to be having issues - currently frost build up despite above 65 degrees F.
Response from danby.comBy Earl , Customer Service, July 19, 2023
Hi,
We're sorry to hear about the frost build-up issue with your dehumidifier. Frost build-up can occur due to various factors such as low ambient temperature or a malfunctioning defrost mechanism. We recommend checking the room temperature and ensuring proper airflow around the unit. If the issue persists, please reach out to our consumer service team at consumerservice@danby.com via email, and they will be happy to assist you further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Best regards, Earl

Hoping for the best.

We had 2 of these units that worked well for a Summer. They were then stored for the Fall and Winter. During their second season of use neither of the pumps worked and one unit became prone to icing up and not running the auto-defrost. Danby was kind enough to replace both units under warranty. I am hopeful that these will last longer.
Response from danby.comBy Earl, customer service, January 29, 2025
