Good Easy to Use Window Unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit was really easy to install and the instructions for use were very easy to understand. We got this unit right as a heatwave had hit, and this cooled our entire downstairs area - almost too cold at times! We love the dry feature too as we live in an area that can get heavy humidity. The unit itself is pretty loud so we have it in a lesser trafficked portion of the house, but otherwise we are very happy with the unit!

Awesome window heat pump

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This window unit is great. We have 2 large tvs and 2 xbox series x consoles in one room and it's like having 4 space heaters in a small space. The window unit dramatically knocks the temps down. It moves a lot of air too. We tested the heat and it seemed to do very well which we'll need this winter. I added a lot of insulation around it since it's mostly a permanent appliance. I do wish it was a bit quieter, but sound was at the bottom of our checklist. Is it light? No. It's heavy and is best to have 2 strong people for safety. Is it quiet? No. Not crazy loud though, we sleep with it on no problem and can easily talk, play games and watch TV, but it's noticeable, especially using eco mode where it goes on and off. Is it easy to install? Yes. The slide in chassis makes a big difference, it wasn't a cake walk but it's the easiest window unit I've ever installed(6 or 7 under my belt). Does it cool and heat? Yes. Remarkably well, we love it. I don't know yet the impact on our power bill, I'm guessing not too much using eco mode. We have an older house and we have had no issues with power draw, no flickering lights or other weirdness when it kicks on like space heaters cause. That tells me it's going easy on the power consumption, at least in our case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The overall quality of the unit is good. I haven’t needed to use the air conditioning feature yet as it is February and cold. I was quite disappointed with the “supplemental heat” feature as the unit provides no warm air if the outside temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. I should have done more research on the “supplemental heat” feature before purchasing as this is quite disappointing. What good is the heat feature if it has to be warm enough outside before it works? Instead of using a heat pump type method for supplying heat, maybe a simple heat strip in the unit would work better to provide heat no matter the outside temperature.

While supplemental heat isn’t intended to be the primary source of heat, it should assist in maintaining and circulating heat from another source. This type of heating will also gather heat from outside the home, but if the temperature drops to 40F or lower, you may notice the unit struggle to maintain the set temperature due to the lack of transferable heat from outside. Meets expectations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this unit for a three car garage knowing I was maxing out the capabilities. I insulated my garage doors and added insulation to attic above garage first. If I close everything off and start the AC in early morning i.e when mid 70's outside it can maintain between 75 and 79 in garage when temps outside get above 95 degrees...in Texas. It's not perfect but much more enjoyable working in garage at 78 degrees as opposed to 95 plus. I liked the fact that this unit was window slash through wall as i wanted to remove my existing window and frame around the AC unit. I had to reframe once because the first time I used 2x6's and that with the addition of my exterior siding made overall width too long. That's what I would add to instructions... 1. keep in mind thickness of exterior material so as not to block venting and 2. there are notches in the sides of the frame that make it impossible to fit into the size of the frame they are calling for in the manual. I ended up first making the frame larger than called for but upon my second framing, I used a needle nosed plier to bend these tabs in so it would fit correctly. I believe these tabs are used for window installation and not for through wall. I'm pleased with the unit so far but will see how long it lasts with the harsh garage/woodworking environment. I cleaned the filters after just 5 days of operation, they were dirty due to all the saw dust....expected. I let it run for 12 hours straight when I'm in the garage all day and as title says...it does what I was hoping it would do. Can't get to 72 degrees but that wasn't the expectation.

First, the unit replaces a window A/C by Frigidaire that we had for over 20 years. Second, the reviews for this unit were positive. Third, it had the features we were looking for, and Fourth, I found a good price for the unit.

Works great!

Now we use it everyday because our room is cooler with it running daily. It's not super quiet, but you know it's on and working. Would definitely purchase another one If this one went out in a few years.

Great portable air conditioner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this to replace an Emmerson Quiet Kool due to a faulty thermostat. The Frigidaire 11,000 BTU window unit far exceeds our expectations. The first thing we noticed was our electric bill went down. Totally unexpected. Second, it cools wonderfully. We have not used the heating side of the unit but will put it to good use in a couple of months.
