I recently bought the 14,000 BTU model. This is just informational. The listed debth measurement is incorrect. The actual debth is 27.5 inches, not 24.8 inches. In my case it made installation impossible. I returned it the same day.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this and had it installed about a month ago. It’s very energy efficient and QUIET. PERFORMS EXCELLENT SO FAR. I will be purchasing more LG products!
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The dual inverter is THE BEST. All you can hear is the fan sound. My window is a old with my old AC cause a loud vibration like a old car. Now the LG AC really make a big different.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Am going on 2mos using my AC and enjoying my electricity savings! It's starting to warm up in South IL but the humidity came well in advance. My 728 sq ft duplex gets humid quick and am pleased with my choice because the "Dry" setting helps with my asthma pulling moisture from the air, when I don't need to run the AC, although the "Energy Saver" and "Cool" settings remove moisture as well. In comparison to the last window AC unit at my old place my LG AC is remarkably quiet. It's installed in my living room window and I can hear TV without turning the volume up. The inverter is a great feature that intermittently blows out a gust of cool air to maintain the room temperature setting which saves $. I like all the features including its modern style, especially the remote app to use from my phone wherever I'm at and am able to see the energy usage by day/week/month. LG thought of everything with this design, especially energy savings, it's worth the cost and is not going to break my retirement budget staying cool.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the quietest window unit, the features are easily readable on the a/c only, and it is easy to install for a pro. Your remote viewer needs to be larger please.

Recently installed according to manual

I bought the 1400 BTU LW1517IVSM a couple weeks ago and it was delivered this past week in good condition. I installed in our first floor window according to the manual and did not need to use a AC support bracket I purchased, so I used the 2 brackets supplied with the unit and everything seems great. So far we are very happy with the way it runs and cools the first floor (4 rooms). One thing I'm not sure of is whether I should remove the rubber plug under the unit to drain water or is it best to leave the plug in while it is running? I could not find anything in the manual that comes with this AC.
