Doesn't cool well

When an air conditioner doesn't cool as it should, causes such as a restricted indoor airflow, temp control not set properly, a hot room, or cold air is escaping. There can be specific causes for the unit not starting, such as a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker, the unit could be unplugged or not pushed completely into the outlet, or the current interrupter device is tripped. You can press the RESET button on the power cord plug for the interrupter device. If the RESET button will not stay engaged, discontinue use of the air conditioner and contact a technician.
If the above suggestions do not solve this issue, we suggest making use of the limited one year warranty and contacting a qualified GE service technician. You can schedule service by calling 1-800-432-2737 or online here: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm.

Great AC!

So easy to install compared to another 2 big units that I ended up returning because they were so time consuming and difficult to put together. You can literally take this out of the box and put it together within 10 minutes and have it in the window running! Cooled down my whole down stairs living space!

I bought this A/C, because it was rated as being quiet, which it is, most of the time. However, some of the time it make a rumbling sound that is rather loud. It has the wifi functions, but they are not very useful. Would I but it again? Yes.

Fits My Window with Cold Air

For the positive, this was one of few conditioners that fits a 39 + inch window. It is stretch but it fits without having to adjust the size of the opening. It has cold air which should be expected. It is quiet. As far as I can tell it seems to be less expensive to run. It is light weight compared to most. I like the foam inserts that help seal from the outside. I think the inserts could have been a little bigger but that is sort of nit-picking. The main negative I have is the little paddles that you can adjust to adjust the flow of air right or left are too small to make as much difference as is preferred if you have an L shaped room. Most of my activity is in the part of the L away from the window so the cold air doesn't get to that part of the room as efficiently as I would prefer. It doesn't make enough difference to cause me to want to buy a new one next year. Also the fan isn't quite as powerful as I would prefer with the set-up of my room. Another thing I don't like about GE AC, is they seem to run all the time while I prefer those that shut off when the desired temperature is reached. I had another smaller GE for my bedroom which I decided to replace for that reason. I am pleased enough with the purchase. I would recommend it as long as whoever I am recommending it to knows the problems for an L shaped room.

Very quiet but could be colder

We use this in our upstairs bedroom as our house is old and we don't have central air. If you're looking for quiet - this is it! If you put it on quiet mode, you'll barely hear a whisper. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars as opposed to 5 is that the AC only goes down to 64. This is normally plenty cold for most people but being that we're in a bedroom upstairs and my husband runs hot, I wish it could get down to 60. Other than that, fantastic unit, easy installation, and a good buy!
