Quiet Window A/C That Does the Job

I got this GE Profile Series AHTR12AC for home office above garage that is separate from house. I'm in Florida and it gets hot up there. I needed something quiet. It's quiet once it reaches set temperature and in maintaining set temperature. It cools quickly then auto shifts to low fan and compressor setting for cool, quiet operation. Automatically shuts off when cooling is not needed and turns back on when temperature rises about 2F above set temperature. Often when I'm working I don't even realize it's running. It's not a distraction. If it continues to operate in this manner and lasts, it's a 6 Star rating. WiFi operation is also a nice feature. I can have the office cool before I go up and check remotely to make sure I've turned it off.

Nice quality AC unit but not enough for 550sqft

I love the build and features of this AC unit but it doesn't have the output to cool a 500 sq ft insulated space very well. I'm here in Florida and with it constantly running this unit will make my shop not as hot but cold is only a dream.

Quiet & energy efficient

I bought this air conditioner about 6 months ago and I am very pleased. It is extremely quite, cools the room perfectly, and has lowered mu electricity bill by 20%.

Just installed the unit, so hasn't been in that long but is working very well.
Squeeks a bit while running, but that may go away after it has been running for a while.

GE Profile for the win

I bought this unit for a 2-bedroom apartment with a large living room, dining room and kitchen (600sq ft). I bought the support mount kit for it and it was well worth it, made installation simple. Plugged it in and it’s been keeping the room cool ever since.
