Great AC unit - efficient but not very well built.

Very efficient - but didn't last that long ... the water pump died after the first season. GE was great about warranty replacement, but the new unit is very loud. It rumbles the wall like a small freight train. The first unit did not do this so I think something may be wrong with the new replacement.

It cools the room fine but makes a rattle noise. Think when compressor is on. So not as quiet as I expected. The midea brand ac I have is quieter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi,
If the air conditioner is making a rattling noise, there are several things you can check:
*The front grille may be loose or broken. Remove the grille and inspect it to confirm it is not broken. If it isn't, reinstall the grille. The instructions for removing and reinstalling the grille is in the Owner's Manual. Here is the link:

*Check and clean the air filter. Debris and dirt from the exterior of the air conditioner should be removed.
*The movable louvers are loose or broken. On some models, you can check and adjust the louvers. Consult your Owner's Manual for instructions.
*With window units, improper installation can cause vibration in the window sill. Check the Installation Instructions for proper installation guidelines.

Cool and Quiet! w/ a View!

The installation video could use more close ups! We have the 10300 Btu. Model. When I tried to separate the two sections by myself, (as illustrated with smaller models) I met with resistance, trying to extend them to the furthest (3rd) position! They had started to come off of their tracks, but I had not damaged anything! So extending the sections on this larger model, is also a two-person job! With the helper I planned for the lift, we easily got them back on track and fully extended. Even with that glitch the installation didn't take long. The weather stripping, could be a bit easier to cut. We have exterior brick sills, (so, of course), the knobs of the "adjustable supports / adjustable bolts" extended beyound the bottom edge of the Brick! It's holding steady, but slighty larger "knobs" would be helpful! (Don't you hate it, when in the course of reading an Owners Manual, in different paragrahs, it refers to the same part by two different names!!!) Anyhow 24 hours later it's running cool & very quiet! And it's nice having the view back!

(That’s how you know you’re old when you’re excited for a window unit). I love the fact that I’ll still be able to see out of windows as the window I’ll use this in is one of the main ones I use to see if anyone is at my front door. The Bluetooth capability is an added bonus!

Powerful yet quiet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When deciding on an air conditioner for our home at the beach, we knew we wanted a system that was durable and powerful enough to combat the sweltering summer heat and salty air. We also wanted an air conditioner that was quiet because we would have it in the bedroom.
The GE Profile Series - PHNT10CC was exactly what we needed and checked off all of our boxes. It was easy to install and the instructions were very clear. It is also simple to work. Its well made and durable and we've had no issues since installing it.
I am extremely happy with the GE Profile Series - PHNT10CC and I would highly recommend it to my family and friends.
The GE Profile Series - PHNT10CC was exactly what we needed and checked off all of our boxes. It was easy to install and the instructions were very clear. It is also simple to work. Its well made and durable and we've had no issues since installing it.

GE Profile window AC

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GE Profile Clearview is the AC unit I have been searching for! My cabin does not have central air and I have been dealing with 2 standup units that take up both window space and floor space. This window unit is genius! No more precarious balancing of the unit of the window sill and worrying which direction it's going to fall when you open the window. This unit sits below the windowsill and adjusts to the depth of your sill for a secure fit. The outside of the AC then has some twisty stoppers to make it extra secure against the wall. The low profile design of the AC unit is by far the best feature in my opinion. You can open and close your window with no problem and also SEE out the window without it being completely blocked by the unit. The unit is equipped with a "quiet" mode that really does decrease the noise level in comparison to other units I have used in the past.
Even though the control panel on the front is very easy to use, and also comes with a remote control, one of the coolest features is the ability to connect this unit to WiFi and control it by an app on your phone or a smart device in your home. I already had the GE SmartHQ app on my phone after owning other GE appliances that use it, so connecting the AC unit was a breeze. It seemed to cool down the living area of my cabin very quickly but the true test will be during the hot summer months.
The only downside I have discovered thus far is that this unit weighs a ton! I would recommend having a helper to get it up any steps as well as getting it installed. Absolutely loving it!

Amazing new AC

Was a little tough to install and actually couldn't use it in the window I originally wanted to. But once you get it in it is perfect. My wife loves the way it looks and the fact that it doesn't block the window. From the outside too it looks great. It's powerful enough for a medium room. The app has good features and is easy to use. It's a good one

GE profile air conditioner
