I have used several different griddles in the past and my Weber griddle has out performed them all so far. Edge to edge even temps makes cooking a breeze. Love the large grease capture system.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This weber griddle is amazing. It was easy to assemble with the instructions but i do suggest having 2 people to put it together. It is heavy but easy to move with the wheeled legs. I also suggest to season the griddle before using. It has a big area to make food which I love as well as it being a flat top. It does heat pretty evenly which I like as well.
It was packaged well and included easy to understand assembly instructions. The seasoning process was straight forward. The griddle is well thought out in design and seems to perform very well. I am looking forward to many wonderful meals using this flat top.
Great looking grill and really impressive performance - as expected from Weber. Gets to heat quickly and nice even distribution based on a few cooks so far. Ability to have different temp zones is a huge plus as well. Location of grease tray is much preferred over other griddles I've seen. But most importantly, this thing is just a blast to use.
Makes for a great addition to an existing smoker/pellet grill (my situation), but I think easily versatile enough to be your only grill as well. 28" was perfect size for us - doesn't take up too much space but cooked up a breakfast for 8 no problem (if you're regularly cooking for more than that the larger version might be helpful).
As a retired truck driver, I've spent plenty of time watching cooks use flattops all over the country - and wishing I could have one at home. When I saw Weber was coming out with a backyard flattop, I vowed to get one when they became available.
I've only used it a few times but so far I'm extremely sissified. Nice even heat.
Follow the advice and take the time to season your new flattop as they suggest in the instructions. I went with 4 repeats of the seasoning process. Use plenty of oil but wipe it down before heating. Treat it like you would a new cast iron skillet.
If you're wondering about the size, it's plenty for 2 people. And even a couple of guests. But if you regularly cook for a larger number of people, you should consider waiting for the larger model which should be coming soon.
