(Original review) While this phone is new and shiny and fast, I do have issues with reception. It seems to have weaker reception than my old phone, a Galaxy A10. It keeps losing reception when I drive past a particular spot. regaining the signal about a mile away. (And it's not like I'm in a rural area or anything, I'm 5 min away from NYC and I'm on Verizon so this really shouldn't be happening.) I hope this issue gets fixed soon in a software update or something. ____
**UPDATE** I actually got the phone to work. Today I was driving through that "poor reception" area again. The phone was in 5G mode and then lost reception completely, as usual. But today, I tried something different. I stopped the car and then turned the phone off and back on. When the phone came alive again, it showed 4G LTE mode with five bars (!). And I was able to make calls and access the web and everything. So I guess it was an issue with 5G. ____
I think every time the phone loses reception while in 5G mode, I should turn the phone off and back on. (or put it in airplane mode and then turn it back on, which I think would have the same effect) I think this would tell the phone to look for the best network in the area and connect to it. __
So if anyone else is having issues with the phone losing reception while in 5G mode, I would suggest that they try what I did. ____
So now I'm changing my review to 4 stars. Docking 1 star because I think the phone should always be looking for the best network in the area automatically, without my telling it to do so. Also, the phone is quite heavy, and for all its size it lacks a headphone jack. Samsung please bring back the headphone jack.
