Good for occasional use

Overall, I’m more or less happy with my Embr Wave 2. Would I buy it again knowing what I know now? I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t. Not to say that it’s a bad product or doesn’t work at all because it definitely does take the edge off of my flashes, (which is obviously wonderful). It’s certainly not an instant fix, but they don’t really tout themselves as instant relief. Is it worth the cost though? I’m not convinced that it is.
Design wise, I do like the color options, but I despise the band. I wish that you could select the type of band that you want when you make your initial purchase. I hate the metal band for a number of reasons, they’re uncomfortable, they don’t stay put when you sweat, and I personally find myself readjusting it all of the time. I hated it on my Apple Watch and I hate it on my Embr wave. I would have liked the option to choose a different band option. The website does offer additional bands that you can buy separately, but they’re pricey for a simple band and I wanted to see if I would even like the Embr wave first before investing more money for accessories.
I also feel that it’s pretty bulky. I work at a desk in an office and find that it’s constantly hitting the desk whenever I type or use the mouse on my computer and it’s just downright in the way when I’m writing on a pad of paper or taking notes. I’ve gotten used to it now and just end up moving it around as needed, but it was an annoyance in the beginning and there are a lot of scrapes and scratches on the case now when I haven’t even had it that long.
I honestly thought that this would be something that I wanted to use all of the time, and when I first got it, I did. Now I feel like it almost overheats (the case is warm to the touch) during a simple hot flash cycle, and my battery doesn’t last through the overnight keep me cool function. I usually just take it off when it gets too warm since that more or less defeats the purpose of the cool down. I can feel the cool of the part against my skin, but I can also feel the warmth of the case heating up. But feeling like I need to take it off all the time means that I’m not getting the full benefit that I had hoped for.
So all in all, I’m more or less happy to use it occasionally now, when I feel like I might need it the most. But I also have reservations and will continue to keep my eye on the technology as it evolves in order to upgrade the hardware experience.
The app is designed well and gives you lots of options to personalize your experience. It makes set-up a breeze and helps you to personalize your Embr wave to address your individual needs.
All in all, I’m not sorry that I made the investment, even if I do find it annoying that I would have to purchase additional bands and chargers to make it really work for me. I am excited about where future iterations can go and look forward to what the folks at Embr can do down the road to evolve and improve the technology.

Helps with cooling, but nothing DRAMATIC. Still have to see if it works solely on it's own. Only thing I don't like, it seems I need to keep my phone near by to have it work on a program.

Thanks for your feedback! Quick note on the app: you only need to connect to the app to while you’re actively browsing or selecting a different session type. Once you’ve selected that session, you don’t need to have your phone nearby or connected to the app while you use your Wave. If you find a favorite session, you can always assign it to one of your Wave’s buttons as a preset, which will let you start that session just by pressing the button — no app needed!

After 16 years, finally relief!

When my significant other showed me the ad for the Embr Wave, I was skeptical anything could work that well.
Having suffered with hot flashes and night sweats for 16+ years (and counting :rage:) with a family history of breast cancer, my options were limited and I had resigned myself to “just living with it”.
I ordered the Embr Wave2 thinking I would be taking advantage of the 30-day return policy. I gave it two weeks to see if there was any improvement. I’m definitely not taking advantage of the return policy :grinning:.
I find when I feel a ‘flash’ starting, I push the cooling button and before I know it the cooling magic has worked. Truly a miracle.
The only thing I find to be an issue is it is a bit bulky and slips down my wrist. I would still not give up my Embr Wave2 :grinning:

Perfect for Chemo Induced Hot Flashes

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 38, I was prepared for a lot of struggles but I wasn’t prepared for chemo induced menopause and the hot flashes! I had previously heard about Embr wave and considered buying one to stay warm in the office (I’m usually a freeze baby), but decided against it. Once the chemo hot flashes started I decided it was time to give it a try. I am so happy I did. The relief at night time was a game changer. I can’t explain how bad chemo makes you feel and taking any ‘extra’ medicine is discouraged so this really really saved me during this time. And now that I’m back at work, I use it when it’s freezing in there too! The only downside I have is the top part of the cooling mechanism sometimes gets hot.

I received my device yesterday and uploaded and got connected and immediately I have notice that my body changes. As soon as I started noticing a hot flash coming on I turn it on sleep with it too. At 67+, woman of color my mobility change for the better; anxiety issue relief; strength in walking increase; truth for me it works...

Works great at cooling and warming. I love it for my hot flashes I use it all the time. Also if I am cold I use and warm up right away. Great invention. My only complaint is that sometimes the magnetic band loosens up on its own. Would have preferred an option to purchase with comfort band instead of magnetic.
