The Wave 2 has helped me with heat intolerance issues due to my many neurological conditions. I wear it to walk, sleep, and handle any temperature issues. It is amazing! I can walk in warmer temperatures than I used to be able to! Sleep quality is better as well. It is a life changer! Thanks so much, Embr Labs!

The Wave has helped me so much with the hot flashes and night sweats. Thank you for making a device to help with hot flashes without it being a medical drug. This Wave works!!! I actually purchased 2 Waves so I have one in my car incase I leave it at home. I bought one for my Sister In Law as she went through cancer treatments and it has helped her with that as well!

In love with my Wave2!

I am fighting breast cancer and part of the treatment is suppressing estrogen in my body, so hot flashes were killing me slowly and not letting me sleep…until I got my Wave2. Since first night, I woke up 5 times, press the bottom 5 times and fell asleep each time right away! I feel like I have my life back.

I'm SO Glad I Tried It!

For about 3 years, I've struggled with hot flashes that have increased in frequency and severity over the past few months. As a result of this, I've taken to carrying a hand fan with me everywhere I go. Literally, EVERWHERE! I have one at my bedside, there's one in the glove box of my car, in my work bag, at my desk at work, and even in purses that I don't regularly carry. Those who share my struggle might agree that it's highly embarrassing to be seen always fanning yourself, even when outdoors. At night. Even, though it's 50 degrees out!!
I didn't want to take medication for the condition, but the increasing torment was getting to be too much to bear. I watched the Embr Wave TV ads circulate with skepticism; I didn't believe that it could work. In fact, I decided to give the device a try just so I could write a spicy review about how it's a fraud. However, after just 3 days of use, I'm happy to report that IT WORKS! Don't get this unit expecting to see your hot flashes disappear altogether -- they probably won't. However, I discovered that if I hit that little button as soon as I feel one coming on -- and we all know that feeling -- the EFFECTS were greatly minimized, and each episode LESS intense. What used to be a 3 - 5 minute 'sweat feast,' is now just a 1 minute spell of mild perspiration! This, I can live with! Also, I sleep longer and a bit more soundly, because I'm not waking up in 30-minute intervals just to kick off the bed covers! The flashes are much more manageable and I feel almost like my old self. I'm so grateful for this delightful little hunk of technology!

Cooling is usable. Warming is completely unusable.

I have super tiny wrists the size of a large 5th grader. I have to pull the band on the Wave almost completely closed. (No big deal.) But the cooling on the Wave is just TOO dang cold. At the temp it defaults to, it feels like my wrist is burning after the first round. Because of that, I generally flip it to the other side of my wrist and slide it down 2-3 inches to the part of my arm that's the size of a normal person's wrist. After turning down the temp, it's bearable.
As for the heating function, FUHGEDDABOUDIT. Heating is basically Burn Level High, Burn Level High-Med, and Burn Level High-Low.
I'm still deciding if I want to keep this or send it back. It kind of works and there's nothing else on the market to replace it with. At the same time, the user experience is very suboptimal for me.

Taryn, thanks for sharing your thoughts! We know that people experience temperature differently, and what feels “way too cold!” for one person might be “nowhere near cold enough!” for someone else. The good news is that you can adjust the temp level any time, using the buttons on your Wave: press the dotted button to make things cooler or the blank button to make things warmer. You can also edit and save sessions to start at your preferred intensity level, and then you can assign your edited sessions to your Wave’s buttons so they’ll always start at a temp level that’s just right for you. Access the Edit, Save, and Preset functions by tapping the three dots in the upper right corner of any session card under Last Used in the app!

I’ve read all the reviews

I’ve read all the reviews about the Embr Wave, and I’m happy to report that it does help. How much it helps to reduce hot flashes, however, is truly an individual thing. For me, it doesn’t eliminate them like some users reported, but it definitely lessens their intensity. For that fact, it is worth the price. I can also honestly say that I have had some hot flashes come on that have gone away quickly when I’ve activated the cooling button on-the-spot. I wouldn’t say that it works like that every time, in part because I believe our hot flashes are different and are triggered by different things. Where I find the wave the most effective, is like I shared—when I feel a hot flash coming on and I activate the device. Where I find it the least effective is on sleep mode during the night. I find myself waking with each intense hot flash and when it’s on Sleep Mode, it’s often not running through its cooling cycle yet, so I have to wait. What I’ve decided to do after two weeks, is turn off sleep mode, and each time I wake from a hot flash, I activate it myself for instant cooling. (Since I’m already awake) My main feedback to the creators, however, is that I wish the cooling cycle lasted longer than a few seconds. Lastly, the app is easy to use, clear, modern, and visually appealing. It is well- thought -out because it doesn’t give too many choices and keeps the headings simple. I will be keeping this device because it has given me back some semblance of control over my body. I haven’t mentioned much about insomnia, but I believe this has helped that as well. I go back to sleep easier and haven’t been tossing and turning due to frustration over the hot flashes. So much of menopause seems to also be emotional, so anything which helps put us back in the driver’s seat lessens so much of the accumulation of frustration. I still experience hot flashes, but I can now deal with them and I’m no longer fanning myself or apologizing during a zoom meeting. For that, the Embr Wave is a Godsend.

Lesli, thanks so much for this thoughtful and thorough review! You're so right that hot flashes can often be more complicated and individual than one might think, and the Wave might not work exactly the same way for everyone. We love your approach here and hope that you find (as many others have) that your Wave will work better and better for you over time.

OMG! Relief very quick. I love my wave2 and suffer when I have to wait for charging. It's a scoach bulky but what it does I'll get used to it, no problem. So glad someone finally thought to help us power surge gals. It gets unbearable at times. Now, I got this!

Finish rubbing off

I have had my Wave2 for a week. I wear it all day at work for stress and menopause. Since you wear it on the inside of you wrist/arm it rubs on the counter at work and is rubbing off. Would be nice to have some kind of protective bumper for it or make one in stainless steel
