I font know if the one i got was defective or not, but any time i used the cooling function, thr top part of the device heated up to the point it almost burned me,and counteracted any benefits the cold pulse might have provided, since the top part wrapped around the device, and had a ring from the top that made contact with my wrist...probably work great for someone who needs heating, but this particular device didn't help with the cooling relief i needed
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hey Michael, we're so sorry to hear you haven't been enjoying your Wave. It's normal for the metal top and sides of the device to release some warmth during cooling as it pulls heat away from your skin, but it should not be able to get hot enough to cause burns. If you experience unwanted warmth, we recommend wearing your Wave farther down your wrist so that you can bend your hand without touching the sides of the device. Using a Comfort Case can also offer insulation (and extra cooling capacity)!

I bought my Embr Wave two years ago hen I began taking hormone blockers and my hot flashes became unbearable. This device has been a godsend and made what I call super menopause bearable!

I bought this for my girlfriend as she was suffering from the hot and cold flashes. She's really enjoyed the relief felt with the Ember Wave. She asked me to give it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the wrist band coming loose too easily and unexpectedly at times. Other than that, she loves it! Thank you.

Absolutely in love with my Embr Wave 2! I do not handle heat well AT ALL, the Embr cooled me off just enough to avoid feeling ill during the summer heat. Flip side, when it’s cold at work, I just bump on the heat setting and soon enough I’m not cold anymore! A few of my coworkers also are looking at getting an Embr Wave when the new year rolls around (Yay for FSA eligible!!)
