In a changing climate, this is a very helpful tool

I enjoy that cool sensation on my wrist. It is not a magic wand that turns the weather cool, but it does make the heat feel less oppressive. I really missed it when I forgot to charge it could not use it on the last hot day.

Not exactly what I was hoping for.

The Wave 2 is pretty neat, however, the cooling power isnt exactly what I was hoping for. The heat is great when I rarely need it, but the cooling power is what I was looking forward to the most.
I have anxiety that teeters on a very thin line with temperature being already high, so the cooling aspect of the wave was last ditch effort to have some control of it. So far it hasnt worked for me in that respect.

Hi Alex -- Thanks for your feedback! We definitely understand that temperature is super personal and isn't going to work out the same for everyone. Thank you for giving us a try though!

Not impressed

I like the new design but I do miss how you can increase the heat or cold like on the other one. This one is set and I'm not a fan of that. I wish the settings went higher like the first one. Overall I'm not completely sold on the new wave 2 and I still use my original one too.
Response from embrwave.comBy August 31, 2021
Hey Tisha, thanks for your review! You can still adjust the temperature level up and down on your Wave 2. Just use the dotted button to make things cooler or the blank button to make things warmer!

No smart phone

I like the round shape, the wave with square corners bruised my wrist a few times. I wish that I did not need a smart phone to download your app to adjust the temperature. I can use only the factor settings and wish I could try it at a cooler temperature.
Response from embrwave.comBy September 14, 2021
Hey Barbara! You can adjust the temperature level on your Wave 2 using the buttons: use the dotted button to make things cooler and the blank button to make things warmer. If you're able to temporarily install the app on a friend's phone, you can set your device presets to change the default sessions that the buttons trigger (whether you want to keep one cooling and one warming or change both to cooling or both to warming)! But either way, you can definitely adjust the temperature level without the app now :-)

Disappointing

I like the design of the new Embr Wave 2. It's more attractive and smaller than its original, and I do prefer the new charger even.
My main disappointment is that it's advertised as having more cooling power, but it I feel it's substantially weaker than the original Embr Wave. If I do not have it on the max coolness, I genuinely feel nothing.
I have also noticed that the battery life is much worse. With the original, I used it for "Sleep Mode" for the 8 hour setting and use for "Essential" mode several times throughout the day, and still only have to charge it every other day or less. With the Embr Wave 2, I have to charge daily to even use it just for Sleep Mode, without any use throughout the day for "Essential."
All in all, I will probably continue using the original. It was a much better investment.

Hey Spencer, thanks for your candid feedback — we appreciate it! We've passed this along to our support team to see if they can help, since it does sound like your Wave 2's battery is not lasting as long as expected. For cooling, one thing to check would be where the Wave is positioned on your arm/wrist. While our testing showed that the slightly smaller ceramic plate of the Wave 2 made cooling sensations feel more intense compared to Wave 1, it does mean that it can be easier to miss the "sweet spot" on your arm that will be most receptive to cooling. We hope a little nudge in the right direction might make all the difference for you!

I miss my Wave 1

I have now had the Wave 2 for about a month now, and my feedback is that the new app isn’t as user friendly as the original app. I also feel like the battery life is much shorter. I’m not a fan of the battery charger as I have found if it falls off the base it’s no longer charging. I do enjoy that it’s smaller. I liked the 0-12 range on heating and cooling on previous version. Now the range is 0-5.

Thanks for your feedback! A few quick things:
* With the nylon band, you can flip the band up so that it's above the Wave when it's charging if you find it's not stable with the band underneath.
* The Wave 2 actually has a greater range of cooling and warming, though the increments of adjustment are a little different. In the Wave 1 app, it's 9 steps (whole numbers from 2-11) vs. the Wave 2 app, it's also 9 steps (whole and half numbers 1-5—so, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, etc.).
* If you think your battery isn't lasting as long as it should, please send our support team a message: embrlabs.com/contact

Hope this helps!

I’ve had both Wave 1 and Wave 2 and they both were confusing to use. I still don’t understand them and I have a college degree. Better instructions are needed.

I am always overheating and
on September 15, 2021

I am always overheating and sweating at inappropriate times. I bought the Embr to see if it would help me cool down during those times. While it doesn't stop me from sweating, it does make it feel like I'm putting an ice cube on my wrist. My only complaint is that while the cool feeling comes in waves, the device gets pretty hot in between the spurts of cool. I recognize it takes a lot of energy to produce the cooling sensation, but would be nice not to ebb between hot and cold when I'm sweating.

Thanks for your review! One tip that might help is to make sure you're wearing your Wave an inch or two down from your hand so that you don't touch the metal top and sides. During cooling (especially if you're using intense sessions or multiple in a row), these parts of your Wave can get warm as it's pulling heat away from your body and working to generate cool sensations on your skin. If you think your Wave is getting extremely warm when it should be cooling, definitely send us a message so we can try to help!
