I purchased this colour laser printer in Feb. 2025 after my 19 year old inkjet finally died. Reading about all the problems with the current inkjet or ink tank printers I decided that a toner printer was what I wanted. The sale price & generally good reviews sealed the deal. So far I've been very happy with the print & scan quality. The only thing I didn't like was the massive online manual which was somewhat intimidating. I had a techie friend set things up & since then all is well.

I have always had a positive opinion of Canon printers. My first printer was a Canon laser model—the Canon ImageCLASS MF4570dn—which I bought on Black Friday in 2014. That printer is still in good condition, but it now has a driver compatibility issue. After upgrading my PC to Windows 11, I found that the driver software for that model is no longer available.
For this reason, I decided to purchase the Canon imageCLASS MF653Cdw Colour All-In-One Wireless Laser Printer. I received installation support from the Canon support team, and with their help—as well as my own technical know-how—the setup went smoothly. The printer is working very well. Although it is a bit heavy, it is much more user-friendly than my previous model.
I was able to connect it to my Wi-Fi without any issues, the software installation was simple, and the iOS app works perfectly with this unit. The printing speed may seem a little slow at times, but that is generally the case with most colour laser printers. I am impressed with the print, copy, and scan quality. I look forward to exploring more features of this multifunction laser printer.

Purchased this item based on the product description, only to find on delivery that the product was not what was described. The description was for the next model up from the one ordered, so many of the features that I was looking for were not present on the item delivered.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This printer surprised me in many ways. First of all, this machine weighs like a ton, once it's taken out of the box, it is hard to move it to another spot due to its square shape and slippery surfaces. So you must pick a final spot for the printer before hand. Secondly, setting up the wireless connection to the home wireless network is quick and easy. About 10 minutes. Lastly, the colour prints are absolutely beautiful and sharp. Thirdly, the price very affordable, buying this printer is one of the best decision that I have ever made! Lastly, the delivery was swift, it was at my front porch within three days.
