My boyfriend bought this mattress a month ago thinking it would help his back pain. As a result: I have had very limited, and very disrupted sleep for the last month. I now sleep in a separate room, and I'm honestly having second thoughts about the relationship - since he doesn't seem capable of understanding how problematic this mattress is for me, or considerate enough to understand how important a good night's sleep is to normal/happy functioning in the world. We have a "firm" and it is EXTREMELY soft - you just keep sinking into it. A real "I'm stuck in the mud feeling" - it's absolutely horrible. Beyond that - it sleeps EXTREMELY hot. So hot, that if I do manage to fall asleep on it, I wake up 2 hours later feeling like I am roasting! We have tried everything - laying a hard plank underneath the mattress - laying it directly on the floor - it makes no difference. What Tempurpedic claims is "firm" is so incredibly soft - it's laughable. The cherry on top is that if you have a partner who is prone to slight snoring - this mattress will ramp up the snoring to a loud max volume. I'm sure it has something to do with how much you sink into it - that it somehow compresses the diaphragm even more. I think that's about it. I honestly wouldn't wish this mattress upon my worst enemy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
