Super Display Piece

Thanks to my grandson I’ve been turned on to the world of Lego. My first few builds were quite simple and fun experiences, starting with the Yellow Submarine and progressing to the VW Beetle. I found the Statue of Liberty to be a refreshing challenge, an enjoyable build that ended with a great display piece. Hats off to LEGO.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Honestly the base of this set is great with outstanding detail. Great instructions. Although, the body and the face is a disgrace to Lady Liberty. It looks like the designer didn’t even try. The flame on the torch looks like hair from a minifigure. Sad set.

Missed Opportunity

As it stands now, it is the worst Lego set that I own. The build is challenging but the end product doesn’t look too appealing. The simplest thing Lego can do to improve this set is to do something about the face of the statue. Add a sticker or create a inquire Lego piece for the face. The blank face is just lazy on the detail of such an iconic monument. Can’t recommend this to anyone until Lego changes the face.

The face, or lack of.....

The Lego design of the face is an insult to French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi. And me. This statue has a lot of meaning to millions of people. It deserved better treatment.

Very Nice

I really like this set, however the statue itself has a few elements that I do not find visually pleasing. You can absolutely tell what it is, but the detail really drops off around the head. My true reason for getting it was the base. The base is beautiful! I got it then plopped the brickhead on there. I could tell there was some neat element inside to keep the bottom attached to the statue, but i left those pieces out since i was using it to display the brickhead. I will say the base is a quite repetitive build, but the end result is pretty awesome.

Missing Pieces —ongoing issues with LEGO

Fun build overall, but like many sets I’ve purchased directly from LEGO, it was missing pieces at critical points in the build. I ordered them through the online reclamation process, but this is getting very annoying that every other $100+ set I purchase from LEGO I have to stop the build and order missing pieces.

bad quality

I am a big fan of LEGO and my mom is living in NYC. That's why, I always want to build a LEGO Statue of Liberty.
I am not sure why the quality of the bricks are different this time. The quality of the result is not significant.
Also, some pages of the building instruction are ripped in the middle with some holes.

Not enjoyable and not display worthy

This was not fun to put together and also is not an attractive set. The city skylines sets are all interesting but this looks like a sketch drawing or cartoon. There is no face to lady liberty and the whole body is shapeless. Not a good effort from lego.
